FIRST TOUCH - Milwaukee 2126 M12 UnderBody Light Review [1200 LUMENS]

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A few months ago ‪@MilwaukeeTool‬ announced their new 2126 M12 Underbody LED light, but we have yet to get our hands on one. Out of the blue arrived the new LED light kit from Milwaukee Tool. This is one light that may set a new standard for mechanics, Pro and Shadetree alike. You get 1200 lumens of TRUEVIEW LED light output on High, with 800 and 600 lumens on Medium and Low. Runtime is 5, 12, and 15 hours, respectively. This new Milwaukee 2126 M12 underbody pivots and rotates at every joint and the base has multiple strong magnets for attaching to just about any metallic surface. This new underbody light should be hitting the store shelves now, just in time for Christmas Gifts. By the way, make sure you have a look at our Christmas Gift Guide video as well.

    Looks like a nice light, being able to point it right at what you're working on and not having it blind you at the same time. It's a little spendy for a DIYer like me though. My HF stick light does pretty good for the price.

    I really love the videos you put out, and have been watching for a little while now. But, when you say it will stick to anything metallic, I beg to differ. It would have to be iron ferrous metals to have the magnet attract to it. I repeat, your videos are really informative and helpful to people looking for tools and shop items that are really innovative. Keep up the good work and interesting videos.

    Nice light. I'd like to see it telescope inward for storage, and outward for extra length. At minimum make this rest in a smaller footprint and you'll probably get way more buyers. You'd need an entire drawer worth of space to lock this away.

    I think with the magnet, you can stick it on to any ferrous surface. That’s the idea for storage.

    Mate, I really enjoy all your videos, but did I see right, you filled-up that filter with oil before installing it?

  • @alexyu6928

    @alexyu6928

    2 жыл бұрын

    You do that so when you start the engine after the oil change there is immediate oil to lube the engine. If the oil filter is empty it will take more than a few seconds for oil to be available to lube the engine and engine wear will occur in that few seconds. Of course when the oil filter is mounted sideway you can't prefill it.

  • @A.Dude.

    @A.Dude.

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@alexyu6928 Sadly you are wrong. First off, you will have to understand how the oil is moved from the filter to where it's needed, secondly the oil poured into the filter might contain contaminants which will not be filtered. Now I'm going to educate you and others on the matter. The oil does not miraculously go from the filter to the engine, it is not sucked because there is no suction; it is PUSHED by the oil coming from the pan and it is being pushed by the oil pump. This being said, the gain in actual time of engine running without oil is the same. It ls NOT recommended to do this procedure and for this reason manufacturers mounted the filters on the top of the engine (good luck filling that one up!!!) or in some horizontal positions (good luck not wasting oil on those!!!). There are certainly a lot of manufacturers who don't take this safety measure... What you are stating is "old school" and bad practice of barn mechanics. Educate yourself on the matter and Marry Christmas!

    It’s a “underbody light” so that would mean that it would go “under a body” correct??? You would use the magnets to stick it on to a frame or a 2 post lift arm

    I've had a Milwaukee M12 3/8 drive ratchet for several years, long before Ryobi came out with theirs. It's the only battery powered tool I have that is not Ryobi. I have 3 M12 batteries, and many different lights, and this looked like the light I've been waiting for, but alas, I'll have to wait for Ryobi to come out with a similar, but affordable one. I'm not afraid to spend money on good tools, I have thousands invested in Snap On, but Milwaukee is almost always just too much money for what you get.

    Granted, Milwaukee is expensive but nowhere near "Snap-on Expensive" lol. $1400 for a Snap-on 12 piece combo wrench set, yeah I'll take Milwaukee any day. I did buy alot of Snap-on back in the day but they were not as stupid expensive as they are now.

    Great idea, but not the right price point... Other than being magnetic and not having to walk around it, you could buy the M12 Rocket Light with 1,400 lumens for the same price, or spend a little more and get a M18 tower light with more lumens yet. As others have said, excellent for use on a hoist, but not so much when on the ground. Not something I'd want to stick to the paint of the body either to avoid scratches.

    On some magnetic tools that are strong enough you can apply a layer of painters tape to the magnet and it will protect surfaces.

    600 lumens on low is bigly high and limits its versatility. I got a 900 lumen portable light i keep in my new van, it got 100 lumens at low and that still isnt dim for short range in tight spaces. Its harder to find use for 900 lumens than 100. I want a 40v Makita portable work light, they dont go overkill on the lumens, by far the most sensible ones for those who dont need to light up a circus tent. Again we see that Milwaukee goes for more more power while Makita actually looks into things and figure out the needs of professionals and DIYers.

    $180 light without being able to be turned on. The power source is extra cash if you actually want it to work. Stanley offers a 7000 lumen LED work light with a stand that we picked up for $99 on Amazon... We've found it worth the $ and since the Milwaukee light is geared towards mechanics, having an outlet nearby isn't an issue when working in a shop on a lift. Food for thought.

    He means...on stands it probably doesn't make much sense because you're pretty close to the ground...(where you can just set a light down) on a lift you get the full use of articulation...it's where this light shines....🤭 See what I did there?....

    @@boosted2.4_sky . This is a stupid argument. You can also claim that if you have a lift you don't need this tool as you can STILL put a light on the floor and point it upwards. Last I checked, car frames, suspensions, and related components are made of metal which this new MW light can be attached to.

  • @pflaffik

    Give it a break guys, most buyers of this light will never use it under a car at all. If we bought only things we need the manufacturers would soon go bankerupt. *looking at my huge stack of Makita 40volt powertools, most of which i havent used and already had as 18volt*
