The Martha moment makes Batman realize superman has an earth mother that raised him...sees his humanity

Well but the main reason was because their mother's name was the same😂😂,which was so stupid when I first watched this film cause in the entire movie, batman proved himself so worthy that I genuinely wanted him to kill Superman in that moment but yeah, can't have everything that we want.

Sups didn’t beg for his life.Even in the face of death he told him to save his mother. That's the reason. U guys just want to mock dc or Zach snyder for no reason People like u just don’t have the brain to understand Zach's vision U just need a silly reason to spread hate or mock his works. That scene was so much deeper and has so much deeper meaning that brainless people don’t understand

At that moment Batman realized that he has become the bad guy and because of him another one is going to lose a mother. All the years and the lose of many lives have turned Batman into a bitter man without hope, he is behaving as the villain. Thats what he realized at that moment.

@@kikebautista2110wow exactly so there are a combination of things but that is the main reason He became the very thing he fought for over 20 years against. The Martha name was the spark or igniter to him finally realizing that. And also you have to assume that Lois and Superman explained what was going on because there was a cut scene and when they returned to Batman, Lois, and Superman you can hear Superman say “He wanted your life for hers”, which obviously means they had told him about Lex Luthor and what he had been plotting. Makes sense or else we would t hear Superman say “He wanted your life for hers”. It’s mind boggling how many still do not get it, or maybe their Hate won’t allow them to.

I’m so glad you enjoyed this movie! You’re gonna love the sequel Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021)!! This is my favorite superhero trilogy, with Man of Steel, Batman V Superman and Justice League (Snyder cut), it’s so epic! Snyder intentionally wrote Superman’s arc to follow Joseph Campbell’s Heroes Journey across this trilogy. In MoS we saw Superman’s call to adventure and crossing the first threshold of transformation with Zod. Here in BvS we see Superman undergo a road of trials and sacrificial death. What happens next in ZSJL is the “ultimate prize,” finding belonging among a team of outcasts of super-powered misfits. As they say “the night is darkest just before the dawn” 😉 it’s kinda like LOTR Twin Towers or SW Empire Strikes Back, leading up to something more glorious. I can’t wait to see your reaction to ZSJL!! ✌️

Loved your reaction, you were so locked into the plot & characters here. You also picked up on some points a lot of people miss, even big fans of this movie. Like the scene where Bruce is in his parents' tomb, you are spot on; he has survivors guilt from their murder. He literally sees himself with the blood of his mother on his hands. In the film you can see how Bruce is struggling with his PTSD over that night & Robin's death (the suit with the 'Haha' graffiti on it), numbing himself with pills, drinking, & sex. Becoming Batman was his way of dealing with that grief, but now he feels it was a 'beautiful lie'. In his dream the Batmonster (his unresolved grief & barely repressed violent personality traits) is bursting out of his mother's grave & about to fully consume Bruce. This was made all the worse when Superman indirectly led to the destruction of the Wayne Tower in Metropolis & Bruce lost his work family. He is at his lowest point, feeling like nothing he did the past 20 years made any difference, he's feeling powerless. This theme of feeling powerless parallels Luthor as he grew up with a father that beat him & used him to raise money for his company leading to a warped ego & narcissism. He has grown totally cynical & has no faith in God or mankind. Using his intellect to gain power & resolve his feelings of helplessness he builds up his corporate empire with shady practices, believing that 'power cannot be innocent'. So Superman, a seemingly godlike figure only trying to do good totally contradicts his worldview, he can't handle it & needs people to 'see the fraud he is'. Lex was such a calculating villain, hiring prisoners to kill anyone with a bat brand, making Batman seem even more brutal and immoral to Clark & sending taunting letters to Bruce in red marker, so both heroes are even more on edge. Cut to the Martha scene, you got it again, this was a chance for Bruce's redemption. He had stopped thinking logically & was running on pure emotion, anger & fear (if only a 1% chance Superman was a threat, he had to be killed), so even if he had his doubts what he was doing was right he was still determined to kill Clark. Then he hears that name 'Martha' & Clark tells him to save her. Boom, PTSD triggered, he sees her death again. It was an emotional gut punch & while he wasn't interested in hearing Clark talk before, now he's asking 'Why?', trying to logically figure what's going on. It's as if the Universe (or God) is speaking to him at his lowest point. Will you let your anger, grief, & fear consume you & fall completely into the darkness, becoming the monster you've always tried to fight? Or will you take a leap of faith, trust Clark, & do what you wished you could do since you were a child & save Martha? I think this movie is so beautiful, & not just visually. It's a bummer some people can't vibe with it & write it off but thank you for giving it a chance & letting us see your honest reaction. ♥

I love the "Martha moment" a lot of people just complain that its such a stupid thing to have them just end the fight over the name of their mothers but I think its so much deeper than that. This Batman is Old and Jaded and sees Superman as just another Supervillain waiting to happen and completely misses the fact that he has done nothing wrong this whole time. Superman lying on the ground helpless pleading for Batman to save his mother is very reminiscent of that night Bruce Wayne lost his parents and how helpless he felt and that feeling Reminds Bruce of why he became the Batman in the first place. To Protect the Helpless and make sure no one ever has to feel the way he did, But now its like He's the one putting Superman in that position to where Superman is the one crying out for help.

I am glad to see how you got so much of this movie. Like it is not just the name Martha but the fact that Superman has a human mom and Batman was about to become a murderer. The very thing he was supposed to stop. Also that everything is bout fear and rage. And Lex toying with everyone like the mastermind he is. Wonder Woman though didn't crack the Lex files. She says she couldn't but there was something in there, a photo, that was hers. The Bruce is the one to uncrypt the files and realise that is her in the pic. That's why she looks worried about her secret being found out and then tries to leave Gotham to hide again. But justice calls, hehe. There were two burials. One with an empty casket by the milita, another with Clark's body back in Smallville. Also, you might want to look a bit closer to those last seconds at the very end ;) Can't wait for Wonder Woman and Zack Snyder's Justice League!!

Despite this being a really iconic movie, I agree with David S. Goyer (the scriptwriter for this movie, Man of Steel, and The Dark Knight Trilogy of Christopher Nolan', among other films) that BvS shouldn't have been a direct sequel to Man of Steel. There should have been at least one more Solo production for Superman as well as a Ben Affleck Batman solo movie to lay some more steady world-building in the DCEU before Dawn of Justice.

A really iconic movie that grows on you after a few viewings (at least, for me). Zack Snyder is a legendary director. I like how during the Black Zero event (Zod's attack on Metropolis) aftermath, Bruce comforts that little girl and asks her where her mother is. He shows some compassion, potentially to a then-future Robin. Also, I like your comment during the Amajagh scenes about War of the Worlds. It's a nice comparison to the events of Man of Steel. In reference to your comments about the rest of Krypton not existing anymore, remember this, Zod's cohorts and conspirators onboard the Black Zero weren't killed in Man of Steel. They were sucked back into the Phantom Zone. This would have been a major plot point in the proposed sequel to Man of Steel that would have been directed by Zack Snyder or Mathew Vaughn or Christopher McQuarrie and would have been set after the Justice League movie.

But His Hope in Good is restored at the end by Kal-El's selfless Sacrifice.

Reembok-how much hate do you have for lex luthor right now Me-well i actually enjoyed him, jesse eisenberg's portrayal of lex luthor was pretty good, thats what makes it very enjoyable, same goes for anthony starr's portrayal of homelander, the lex luthor portrayal of kevin spacey in Superman returns was very bad, thats what made me him so much.

When you watch Justice League DO NOT watch the one that came out in theatres in 2017. Watch ZACK SNYDER'S Justice League (2021)...That is the REAL sequel. Great reaction to BvS: Dawn of Justice UE by the way 😊

Wonder Women didn't put that stuff on usb/hard drive. Batman stole it from Lax and when she stole it off Batman, she couldn't get into it.

It would be better if she actually knew more about DC characters. Her comments suggest she only has a passing acquaintance with a few of them but ignorant of so much more.

I feel ya. I love own the ChristopherReeves"Superman movies in 4K. Nothing against the 'O Donner cut that I never watch. I just like the one I grew up with,so I like it better. Wonder Woman is also one of my favorite superheroes ever. So I was really excited to see her. I watched these on a 65"4K Nanocell T.V in my bedroom. Spectacular movie and great video 👍
