the credits made me cry the most seeing all the memories and moments toothless and hiccup had together nd then seeing them both be adults, have kids, rule their own land, and yet still have that strong bond tht keeps them together and i loved that toothless needed to take one lil sniff of his hand and he immediately knew it was hiccup, i mean he did say in the second movie that when toothless licked him and his clothes hiccup said "you know that doesn't wash out" and he had some of that armour on him, and in homecoming

One of the hunters said that the Light Fury was Grimmel's favorite bait. It must have hurt the light fury to loose every potential partners through the years-

I still remember completely breaking down when I first saw Hiccup and Toothless part ways. And I still cry now seeing that scene

This was the perfect way to end the trilogy. As always, the animation, music, and flying sequences are incredible. I love how this movie focuses on Hiccup and Toothless as individuals. (Hiccup, struggling to lead the clan and realize that dragons need to be free and on their own, and Toothless, reconnecting with his own kind, finding a mate, and fulfilling his role as alpha.) I love all the new dragons introduced, the hidden world is gorgeous, Grimmel serves his purpose as a dark, alternate version of Hiccup really well, and the ending is so mature, bittersweet, and beautiful. I love that DreamWorks went in this direction. This is one of the few trilogies, in my opinion, where all three movies are undoubtedly amazing, and I couldn't be happier with it.

AGREED, this movie got me into tears but it was worth seeing them finally be free after so many years of being with vikings they can finally go back into the wild and be at peace in the hidden world without any other dragon hunter/trapper knowing where they are

Hit so hard too after having watched the first 2 movies, specials and all of the TV series. The adventures began in 2010 and ended in 2019

There is a short movie called How To Train Your Dragons : Homecoming. Its a fun 22 minutes finale for the trilogy might be worth watching.

@Titanus the final scene depicts hiccup and toothless reuniting and his kids seeing dragons for the first time ever. Homecoming shows us that his kids have seen dragons before so spoils the moment a little. And also his kids want to kill dragons, which means that a lot of the other village kids probably feel the same. This means that they weren't told about the dragons great adventures with them properly which means that hiccup and the rest of the village seemingly just forgot about them

In my Opinion the best trilogy ever made! Even just a little bit better than the Original Trilogy from Star Wars. And I also think that in my opinion the first How to train your Dragon movie is the best movie ever made.(Probably Im just too biased because I literally grew up with this universe)

There is a short movie of 30 minutes call Homecoming where you can see more of Hiccup kids

If i could change one thing with this film it would be the light fury. I wouldve had one other surviving night fury or maybe even a few that had just been hiding in the hidden world. Not only would this futher destroy grimmels reputation but toothless wouldve found his own kind and i feel it wouldve meant more. Also additionally i felt it had moee childish humour and some weird elements like snotlout wanting valka. And snotlouts comment on stoicks death just felt wrong.

Afther this, you guys should chack out the series. Well, if you gus want to see some more dragons from this world 🙁 and enjoy the character a bit more 👍

Planet Of The Apes trilogy

Why do people think Grimmel is the smartest villain? Seriously, have they seen Viggo? Let's analyzes Viggo's plan in Defenders of the Wing Part 1 & 2 shall we? Viggo "proposed" a truce to Hiccup knowing that he would take the map used to show the turfs back to the Edge to "think about it", but signs the map before letting Hiccup take it. Hiccup thinks that Viggo wants to hide something on his side of the "game board" and that Viggo won't give up more territory than he has to so they think that the island closest to the line is what he's trying to hide. Viggo knows that Hiccup and the Riders will go to the island to investigate and he knows that the Defenders of the Wing will suspect them as Hunters due to them sneaking in and the map that he signed earlier. Then the Riders undergo a trial where they are found "guilty" and are sentenced to "the nest". Viggo probably assumed that the Rider's dragons would save them or that Hiccup would train them leading to the Defenders of the Wing trusting them and showing them around the village. While all of that was happening, Viggo and his Hunters sneak in and steal the Great Protecter while having two of his Hunters tell the Riders that they went north when, in actuality, they went south. Then the Riders would follow a decoy ship, buying Viggo and the hunters time to get to the Edge with the Eruptodon where he would have the dragon destroy the Edge by, "eating through the crust of the dormant volcano until it erupts", the dormant volcano being the snow-capped mountain at Dragon's Edge. Then he stationed his Hunters at the Riders' own defenses that Astrid built. And in the process of all of this destroys the Defenders of the Wing village. Viggo is smarter.

As much as I love seeing the Light Fury and the Hidden World, The ending made no sense to me. Not only was it sad, but it felt like a huge middle finger to Race to the Edge. Also, if Berk's dragon's leave, how do all the other dragons leave? Like the wild dragons, the dragons we saw in Race to the Edge like Windshear, Sleuther, Shattermaster, the Great Protector, ect. And speaking of which, if the Great Protector leaves, Defenders of the Wing Island is destroyed. If the Razorwhips leave, the Wingmaidens lose their centuries of tradition. And don't even get me started on the fact that some species (mostly Tidal Class dragons, and Eruptodons and maybe Flightmares) wouldn't be able to survive in the Hidden World. Also, remember Cavern Crashers, that, oh I don't know, EAT EGGS. And the Hidden world would be full of them. Also, how would flightless dragons like Cavern Crashers, Speed Stingers, and Silkspanners even get there? Not to mention that the Sandbuster is pretty much allergic to sunlight and would die before getting to the Hidden World. Also there are dragons like the Deathsong and Grim Gnasher that, oh I don't know, EAT OTHER DRAGONS. Between them and Cavern Crashers, the Dragon population would greatly diminish. And what about Vanaheim? Are the dragons just going to abandon their sacred resting place? I get it if the Sentinels just stayed at Vanaheim because no one knows about it. And on the topic of Vanaheim (just a sad thought, not something that doesn't make sense), are Heather and Dagur never going to visit their father's final resting place ever again? And also remember the Whispering Death, and their giant mutated variant the Screaming Death? The Screaming Death literally made entire islands sink into the ocean. Could it sink the entire world if it wanted to?

That's annoying as hell that Toothless lost most of his cat-like traits from the first film and is treated like a stupid dog, a pet, not an equal and "brother" as it was in previous two movies :т
