One specific Linkin Park performance I think you should react to is "In The End" at Chester Bennington's tribute concert. After he passed, they did a tribute concert "Linkin Park & Friends Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington" where they invited different band's vocalists to sing Chester's part for each song. Towards the end of the show, they performed "In the End" where they left an empty mic at the front of the stage, and the audience sang Chester's part. It's normal for the crowd to sing that song, but in that show you really see how much he meant to us.

Was at that concert. We (the audience) were all looking at the stage, looking at each other, smiling at the connectedness we felt to one another, tears streaming down everyone's faces as we collectively felt that grief together. It was incredibly cathartic. Most powerful concert experience I've ever had, and probably ever will. Much love to all my LP family

Linkin Park hits me hard. I've suffered from depression my entire life. I served in the Army and after some shit in Afghanistan, and most especially Iraq, where I was injured and our unit lost a few troopers, my depression only worsned and I started suffering from 'self-delete' issues. I'm still hanging in there 21 years after Iraq, it's more a struggle some days more than others.... but as I said, Linkin kin Park just hits me harder than most. Music has so much power to touch our souls, I honestly in my worst moments turn to music to get me through. Keep up doing what you do, musicians like you help and save more people than you may ever know.

Thank You for keeping yourself here on this side of the beat. I saw a video of David Draiman of Disturbed talking about the fight and the intensity of depression and how it is just like any other disease like cancer. I lost a good friend of mine to this disease. I lost friends to the war even though I didn't serve. I will never know that kind of life. But, a lesson that my father, who did served when I was younger told me " The best thing that you can do is to keep fighting to live your life the best you can." It wasn't until I had a seizure and almost died that it hit me. My life really does mean something.

"In the kitchen one more chair than you need." That's a potent line everyone has relatives who reach an old age and pass away eventually. Through time, we lose people and slowly we see less and less of our older relatives due to them passing leaving more and more empty spaces around the table.

I recently lost my great-grandmother this year and her death is one of the one things that had the biggest impact in my life. Not seeing her at Thanksgiving dinners anymore will be one of the hardest things I will along with family have to deal with. In her times of hurt whether it be physical, emotional, or mentally she always had a smile on her face and would try her hardest to make others happy and for that I couldn't be more grateful.

Chester did seem like a genuine sweetheart. I don't mean to put him on a pedestal, of course he had his flaws and bad days ... but it seems he had such a good heart. His friend Ryan has called him "one of the only 'true and pure' souls on Earth". His bandmate Mike Shinoda said Chester's biggest flaw was that he cared to much; too much and too deeply. Mike's wife Anna said of Chester: "You thought with your heart. Passion guided every step (...) A heart that big couldn't help but to love so fiercely, hurt so fiercely. You were love and magic and joy." Everyone who knew him seems to mention how he was a funny goofball, generous and sweet, and so, so passionate. As sweet as he was to others, as hard it seems he could be on himself. He spoke of having 'another Chester' inside that wanted to take him down, about having these patterns of thinking where he'd convince himself that others hated him and were right to do so. His self-esteem seems to have been so deeply fracture by the trauma and abuse he went through as a child, and sadly he never got to heal that part of himself before he was lost to that self-hatred. It's such a huge tragedy and loss. The best I think we can do for him now is to honour his memory by healing ourselves and supporting each other, #makechesterproud. It's what he'd want for us ❤

The Sweetest smile and funniest laugh hide the deepest pain
@ancatdal
5 күн бұрын
@@WizardPandora Sometimes humor, laughter and smiles can be used to hide the pain. But at other times, both can exist authentically. Chester spoke about how he often felt fine when he was with people, when he was busy and distracted and "outside his own head"; but that there was something in there that wanted to "take him down". I think Chester was plagued with poor self-esteem, having this inner voice that would always tear him down and make him question his own worth AND that he was a silly, excitable goofball that was often authentically happy. That doesn't exclude that there were times when he would try to hide behind his humour, of course. I just don't think it was all an act to hide his pain, from others or from himself. I think he had both in him.

This song gets much more powerful, when you watch LP and Chester sing this as it got the meaning it did for Chester. He performed it shortly after one of his best friends died, Chris Cornell. And you can hear and see the pain. And you really get to understand how hard it hit Chester, and what Chris meant to him, when you learn that the day Chester took his own life, was Chris Cornells birthday. It was not a random day to Chester. Linkin Park - One More Light Live (Chris Cornell Tribute)

I worked for several years as a stage hand in Southern California. I met Chester during a show and he was talking to that dude from Papa Roach. He was just chilling, having a smoke out back by the gear trucks, hanging out with normal folk. He seemed down to earth and that left an impression on me from all the other countless rock stars or whatever you'd see around, but a lot were just straight to the stage and back.
@katnapper117 күн бұрын
I don't care whether you do a reaction video to it or not, but you owe it to yourself to watch the Jimmy Kimmel performance tribute of this song for his good friend Chris Cornell right after Chris' death. I't an emotional journey that Chester takes throughout that song, yet he was brave enough to perform it in front of that many fans for his friend and put it all out there. How he was able to keep it together as well as he did is amazing. His screaming plea at the end is absolutelty haunting especially now knowing that Chester was soon to follow. Mental health and support for thse struggling doesn't get the light that it should. "Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there." RIP Chester, your light was brilliant and burned out too soon.

Then they performed it on Jimmy Kimmel in memory of Chris Cornell (it was heart wrenching) and Chester was barely able to get through the performance. Chester was gone just a short time later and they released they made this video after his passing so it was made in memory. From what I have heard, the concert footage shown is one of his final shows.

"The reminders pull the floor from your feet; in the kitchen 1 more chair than you need. And you're angry and you should be; it's not fair" I need to find a way to get this in a tattoo, because this is what it still feels like 16 years after losing my Mama. There are still days I think I need to call her and it'll slap me in the face again. If it hits you, let it out, there's nothing wrong with that or being a human being that cries when something strikes that chord. When they debuted this song on Jimmy Kimmel, they literally had found out that Chris Cornell had passed away just a bit before taking the stage, it's much like seeing Disturbed Sound of Silence video and the Conan performance...it's one that deserves a double view. They were going to do their song *Heavy*, you need to see that video too, but decided to do OML for Chris. Their One More Light Live concert is beautiful.

The “I do” at the jimmy Kimmel live joint goes through your whole body. It’s such a beautiful tribute to his best friend Chris Cornell ❤️

This was written by Mike for a friend of thiers who died of breast cancer at the label. When they did this song for Chris's death it became Chesters song! And after Chester died it became his song period!

OMG, I cry every time I hear this song because of the performance they did on Kimmel for Chris Cornell the day after his death, and then two months later, Chester was gone.
I had just received the news that my five year old grandson had passed away and was on my way to my son's house and this song came on. I didn't even know I had it on my Playlist. I had to pull over because I was crying too much. Now every time I hear it I think of my grandson. Thank you Linkin Park. RIP Chester
Linkin Park was my son's favorite band ...after he passed away they became my favorite... this band literally saved my life...Chester has a voice of an angel....he is definitely my angel❤Thank you for sharing your reaction ❤
His tribute to Chris Cornell, his buddy. With this song live is even more gut wrenching. Worth a revisit for that and the live scream he gives. RIP to 2 of the GOATS

@ancatdal

Chris Cornell was his breaking point. Poor Mike to deal with the loss of Chester and Chris.
Oh, brother. They dedicated an emotional live performance of this song on Kimmel to Chris Cornell when he passed. Two months later, Chester was gone. Check it out off camera some time. Cheers bro
Chester was one of the rare artists that touches multiple generations with his talent and art and soul... It is rare to find a man with that ability.... RIP
I suffer from depression, and I'm being correctly treated after YEARS, and this song describes perfectly what it is. And also it's a message: take care of your friends and LISTEN to them, before it's too late. Personal experience.

The live performance on Jimmy Kimmel (tribute to Chris Cornell) always chokes me up. The raw emotion Chester evokes is absurd.
I can't listen to this without tearing up....
We have cared for foster children and adults that have been abused and mentally ill. Often they hide their pain by acting fine but deep down they are so much in pain. It breaks my heart seeing what he went through. Trauma and abuse is bad and it hits to your core. Thanks for sharing.

Don't fight your tears...i cry every time...😢 Ive been listening to them since hybrid theory. His death was tragic and he was a huge part of my life.
RIP Chester 😥😭💚💚💚 This song sounds eerie now but so beautiful - Also One more light was a charity that Chester supported to give light to third world countries thru a special light bulb 💡-
This song gets much more powerful, when you watch LP and Chester sing this as it got the meaning it did for Chester.
Chester was so so kind and down to earth. He enjoyed people and learning about their lives - he was not ego driven at all!!!!
This song makes me cry every time 🥺
Linkin park - given up. It's great
This is an emotional song. The light goes out, the star is gone.. makes me tear up knowing that we all lose loved ones, family, friends, and forever goodbye. And the space is empty. I miss the ones I've lost. Noting each day is closer to the end for someone, even myself
That's the one thing right there that would matter, not fame, not the money it's the lasting impression that the music left on so many. That's legacy the way you're remembered... that's genuine.
Yep. No words. Great response! Luv from Australia ❤️🎼❤️🎼❤️
"Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there." RIP Chester, your light was brilliant and burned out too soon.
i can't resist crying to everything except this song, it gets me everytime
Great reaction! This song makes me tear up every time I hear it, not only for Chester, but for everyone I have lost in my life.
BP you nailed it my guy, this song was written by Mike for a woman that was somehow on the team that dying of breast cancer.
Wow sometimes love means no words😢😢😢😢
cheaster is a legend…it hits harder because cheaster…is one of the stars he was singing about
This song forever hits me, makes me cry and makes me think of all my lost loved ones, my own feelings of how I feel
This is a song that ended up being a tribute to the passing of Chester. #makechesterproud Chester I wish you didn't have to leave us we all miss you so much. Rest easy buddy no more pain. ❤🩹🤍❤🩹 Aaaand I am crying. This song and album which is called One More Light came out just after Chester passed. Thank you for a beautiful reaction. ❤
I cry every song I got depression and suicidal thoughts and his last album was a cry for help rip most beautiful voice will be missed
This songs a "Try not to cry challenge for me". Cuts deep man. It's not about Chester, but I think it encapsulates how we all feel about him being gone. I keep help but to think about that listening to this.
Bro i tear up every time i listen to this song. This song was dedicated to chris cornell who was one of chesters best friends and the music video came out a month or so after chester passed.
I’ve gone to a ton of concerts. I saw LP 4 times. They’re the best ♥️🙏🏼
Tears. Glad you checked this out!
Linkin Park saved my life, along with Three Days Grace, and Shinedown. The gutwrenching thing is now that Chester is gone, you go back and actually listen to his lyrics, they were a literal cry for help. If you have a chance , check out Given Up, and Breaking The Habit
Please react to Crawling- One more light live. It shows how close Chester was to his fans. Its beautiful. Also The Messenger live in Madrid. Another beautiful song. Miss you Chester....

I cry (currently am) every single time....this song hurts. Chester was my little brothers idle....and my little brother died exactly one year later after Chester due to heart failure at the age of 27. Today would've been his 33rd birthday......I miss them both....so, so much.
I had never heard this song before and it choked me up just like it did you BP . I really cannot imagine anyone could hear this and not be touched deeply.I always wonder where people with severe depression are in their faith. My relationship with God is my Guiding Force and I have had many huge challenges. I wish everyone knew how much God loves them. Bless you for your kind heart. ❤
Ok, been waiting for this reaction. He”s talking about Chris Cornell, they were very close like brothers and very very sad. On Chris Cornell “s birthday the following year he took his own life, the same way Chris did!! He”s talking about Depression and mental health just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Very very sad and emotional and very much missed, both of them!!
Thank you my friend. This meant alot to see you finally hear it. Chester helps alot of people to still be here. Love as always BP
I believe the song “Leave a light on” was a tribute to Chester from Papa Roach, it’s a beautiful song and worth listening to.
I think this is my favourite reaction you've done. You really captured the emotional depth behind this song and video.
Beautiful. RIP. Thanks BP.
Man I heard this 1000 times and I almost cried with you.
At the end its not just the logo... its the logo without the last line. Before Chester has passed, the Logo was closing at the top, but without Chester, LP is not complete anymore so the last line was removed. Because every line at the outside stands for a member... R.I.P Chester
A beautiful tribute from Chester that has become a beautiful tribute to Chester
It feels to me like he made this song when he made his decision to end it all. Makes me cry
I cry every time with this song! It’s beautiful and heartbreaking. We love when you feel these songs. It doesn’t matter if you’re a guy. You’re human. I’d be more worried if you didn’t feel these songs. ❤ keep it up Black P!
LP is so important to so many people to your point, it touches so many people. Check out their live cover of Rolling in The Deep
It is so important if you really want to see how much he cared, watch the Jimmy Kimmel live version. The emotion he shows and the performance is amazing
You should go through Mike's album "Post Traumatic." He wrote this whole album as a self-therapy process, and it's total gold.
The day he died his photo became the Lock Screen on my phone. Still there every day when I look at my phone! He is one person I will never get over being gone.
Awwww, thank you for doing this one! An amazing and talented artist who was a great loss! This emotional song hits deep! Makes me think of the Tragically Hip band whose singer Gordon Downie passed from a brain tumor! Another great band to add to your arsenal ❤🎉😢

This song is so deep and emotional. I remember this album came out and a lot of fans hated the album. I didn’t buy it because I hear horrible things of the album because it was not like older Linkin Park albums. I decided to buy it. I actually love the album. It’s emotional but such a great album. I’m glad I got to see Linkin Park live and Audioslave live as well. Chris is was amazing live back in the day
So glad you finally reacted to this! I posted a few Linkin Park videos ago! This song gives me chills every single time I hear it. Celebrity deaths don’t usually effect me, but this one hit hard cause I grew up on Linkin Park

I didn't know him but really anyone who really hears and appreciates and loves this bands music, knew him in some way...RIP Chester

As soon as I saw that you were doing this song, I leaned over to my wife and said word for word how you were going to act and truly feel this song in your heart down to the core! I cried just like everyone, I thought for sure this was the one that broke you on your show. Nothing wrong with wiping a tear and being vulnerable like you are. I’m 54 brother, I’m an Alpha like you, but damn sometimes a tear comes, doesn’t make you weak!! Great work my man, I’m here for all of it💯🇺🇸
the live version of this song sung for Chris Cornell at jimmy kimmel hits hard
This is a tough one…😢 Such a cry for help. And the band’s live performance of this song on Jimmy Kimmel is so beautifully sad.
I cry every damned time. The other two that leave me feeling sucker punched every time are Leave the Rest Behind and Heavy. Heavy makes me feel deflated because I get it.
