First time sawmill use! Hudson homesteader HFE 30
Ойын-сауық
Wow I am impressed with the Hudson homesteader HFE 30. It produced some very nice red oak boards in no time. This affordable machine is what every homesteader should have. Check out how beautiful the lumber it produces and don’t forget to subscribe and like . When I hit 500 subscribers I will raffle off a bunch of stihl merchandise! Thanks for all your support.

Hi, How did you level the mill and have you found the optimal track height? Thanks in advance for your answer.
@Aaronzap15
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking my vid out! I actually did a few videos before this one showing how I set and leveled the Tracks out. Check those videos out! I’m about 5 1/2 “ off the ground. Easy to load logs on and turn them. If you have anymore questions I’d be glad to answer
On the list for one of these… I have a BOAT load of tulip/yellow poplar and have plans to build a house… my state allows ungraded lumber (no inspection). I assume with this you can make 2x4’s 2x6’s etc etc.? I should note… not a huge house… 1900 square feet
@Aaronzap15
2 жыл бұрын
It’s a well built machine and it’s simple to use. Going to have to mill allot of 2x’s to build a 1900sqft house . That would be awesome tho to have the pride that you did it . Good luck and mill on

@@Aaronzap15 yeah, I’m not under any time constraint… just going to get the housing plan/lumber pack and go to work.
What are you using for the foundation under the rails?
@Aaronzap15
Жыл бұрын
It is on 12” steel I beams. I used a mag drill to drill holes through the rails and the beams. Put 3/4 galvanized all thread with nuts and lock washers to do final leveling. Been there for 3 years now and hasn’t moved a millimeter.
When you watch this, is there anything you would have done differently if you got a redo?

I really like the mill. It’s easy to use, easy to fix if something breaks and it is very affordable. Biggest thing is making sure your track is level. I’ll do a 1 year review in the spring. Thanks for checking it out

Can this machine cot a long 1m and more in diameter
@Aaronzap15
Жыл бұрын
The largest log I have cut on this machine was 37”. It was the max and had to turn it once first cut was made. I had to use my backhoe to turn and reset. The max width it will cut is 31 1/2” with the guides spread as far as they can. Hope it answered your question . If not let me know. The 37” was height cut at 30” width massive heavy red oak

Where’s the new video?!
Taking some dirt off maybe. Indont think you need to debark like that, but it can't hurt I guess. I'm no expert, maybe I'm wrong.

I’m no expert either but what I’ve heard is a lot of dirt and rocks are in bark and if stripped it will extend the life of the blade. Thanks for watching!
