Use ethenol free gas to stop the moisture in the fuel tank. The problems you have encountered and then some have all been addressed and the fixes on our channel. There are many flaws in the design but with perseverance and a welder we made a very bullet proof machine. Good honest review

Dang man, I really appreciate your honesty here. I've been looking at Woodland mills but got interested in the Hudson's for the longer track. I do believe your video has pushed me back to the Woodland mills. Hate that you've had so much trouble with your machine. Good luck, man. ✌️

I think that any cheap sawmill will have problems. I've even heard of the new "cheap" woodmizers being crappy. I knew that I should have low expectations. Overall, as of right now...I'd still buy the same mill. While it has it's problems, it is still a mill that I can cut huge logs with for less than $10k. So it's not all bad.

Check out Two Brothers video assessment of their hfe30.They modified the clamp system also using round stock.

You did a great job explaining how this is rated for a 36" log, thumbs up and a sub from me just for that reason. I will look into these, but favor the woodland mills so far when I get ready to buy.

Change your Sq tube's on dogs to round stock. I have a oscar36 with 24 hp vanguard and don't have problems as long as blades are sharp. Wish their blde guide system was a little better but it works.power up dude!

Would it help to top off the tank after you’re done using it to keep the moisture down? I’m asking because I’m thinking about buying one of these.

None of the videos I've seen mention adjusting blade guides close to the log being cut. It seems like it would be necessary ro adjust them for every log prior to cutting. Do you bring yours in close to the log prior to cutting?

Seems like the clamping system is in the way of the log stop. When you first roll the log onto the deck, the clamps would be in the way before the log hits the stops.

You can have trouble and run into complications with any mill of course the more you use it the better you get with it after all as long as you got a flat and level bed that is true to the bandblade should be able to saw good straight lumber, which is the most important thing now if you want all the bells and whistles, Hudson has these if you want to spend more money and that’s what everything comes down to is money which helps a lot on these sawmills

I dont have a mill but have been looking hard at all the differences. Ez boardwalk makes a tough looking mill for the money, its hard to balance quality at low price points as we both know.

Take a look at the Timberking 1220. For a little more money I think you get a lot more. Also, try covering with a canvas tarp and see if your moisture issue goes away. That garbage bag will collect and hold moisture in. Appreciate your input as I am looking at one of their hydraulic models.

My previous comment was made mid video, but after your honest review, being mechanically inclined myself,I think I would rather go with the even cheaper Harbor Freight mill and modify that myself. Thank you very much for an unbiased review.

Yep. I don't skate around obvious obstructions. I hit them head on. It's a decent, cheap mill for pretty big timber, but it does have some serious flaws. If I had it to do over, I would give the harbor freight saw a more serious look. Not saying I would get it though. This sawmill will go right through a 16" log, whereas, the smaller mills might struggle. I'd probably still get this sawmill. I would simply lower my expectations, and consider it a good mill for up to 20". Anything after that...it'll do it, but you really gotta go slow and maybe consider some modifications. Whatch my video were I'm cutting sweet gum. It performed flawlessly on that.

Thanks for the comment. Most people suck at everything. And so, when they encounter problems, it is just normal for them and they also can't see how it could be better, so they only look at simple things like, "Wow, I have a sawmill!" I'm a different animal entirely.

I have not given my hfe30 a good operational test yet but I am concerned now your critique and Two Brothers point out the same flaws and there has been no response from the company about about any upgrades being designed. The terms say that any modification voids the warranty but if we want it to work it may be necessary.

You had big expectations and bought a homestead mill....after watching twice I concluded this negative review should have been done on you, not the mill. Next time buy a professional mill
