Well I am one of the lucky one’s who got to see Stevie live. But I’m so glad you got to see this! That little speech in the middle is why he is legendary. All that talent and had that humanity and humility inside of him. Suggestion for next SRV reaction “Tin Pan Alley” Live w/Johnny Copeland. You’ll get to see yet another side - master storyteller. What a performance!

He always switches to the white custom guitar on this song. It was a gift from Charlie Wirz a High School Shop teacher who let Stevie work on his guitar during woodworking shop later turned guitar shop owner. Charlie is who he wrote this song for after his passing. Stevie is a legendary guitarist. Many are infienced by him today. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fane in 2015. Stevie was an international star who stuck to his love, the blues. He is the guitarist on David Bowie's biggest hit ever, Let's Dance. Stevie's album Texas Flood came out about the time Bowies tour kicked off and he declined touring with Bowie and toured promoting his album with Moody Blues and next, newer bands. It was a success. He ended up playing Carnegie Hall in New York City. His brother Jimmie from The Fabulous Thunderbirds joined him and Double Trouble on stage. Stevie had red and navy blue velvet suits made, flew his parents in to see the show! R I.P. Stevie. Thanks for all the Love you passed our way. ❤️

SRV ~ 🎸🐐 THE goat of all goats Guitar change, one-handed, behind the back, epic speech, backwards, with his teeth (he mouthed that he lost a tooth), beautiful ending...what else can one ask for? Stevie was a Divine gift from the Heavens and we are all blessed to have his music. For more of a true rocker: **Tightrope at Austin City Limits 1989** (He wrote this as a testament to beating addiction)

Dave I'm so glad you reacted to this song - it's my favorite of all his. It has absolutely been my pleasure watching how much YOU enjoyed it! I'd like to see you react to Tin Pan Alley with Johnny Copeland or by himself at the Loreley Music Festival - both are awesome performances.

Thank you so much for this reaction. I don’t know if you were aware, but last Saturday was 32 anniversary of Stevie’s passing. The passion in this song is incredible. I’d like to suggest his performance of “Mary Had a Little Lamb” from the 1989 Austin performance. And by the way, not only did I see him live 4 times or so, I was blessed to have been able to visit with him after each of those shows. We talked on the phone 6 weeks before he passed. I can tell you that he was a beautiful human being, as humble as he was talented. More Stevie, please!❤️Donna G

@@jukeboxdave6026 Yeah for sure SRV is amazing I know you'll get lots of SRV suggestions and I hope you get to do them all. His music for sure needs to live on, just a year ago this song was hardly reacted to but today it's in the top 3. If like to think I had a little something to do with that by suggesting it at every chance I get, it deserves to be heard more. I'm on the same mission with SoulShine, this song needs to be heard by everyone at least once, Great lyrics and some amazing guitar work, it's not SRV but the 2 guitarist on this track are Goats in their own right.

I've been waiting for you to circle back to do this since I suggested it as being his best one here on YT on your "Voodoo Child" reaction. I don't know if you remember but I think I was the first to suggest and you took me up on "Mary Had A Little Lamb" months ago. Try "Texas Flood" live from El Mocambo next and hopefully then "Willie the Wimp" live from the Midtfyns festival.

@@jukeboxdave6026 Thanks for responding, I know you've already done Texas Flood, but the one you saw, though good, isn't his best. The one from El Mocambo is considered by many as his best here on YT, but I feel this one I'm commenting on here is his best. I say that only for your pleasure and not necessarily for a reaction, though I would be happy to see.🎶🎶🎶🎶👍

h3ll yeah:D ...great reaction to the Zues of the guitar gods...SRV = 0% talent, and 10,000% genius, he didnt have "talent", what he had transcends that, just a blues genius, his gift, and passion, and expressive-ness, he didnt "play the guitar", IT "played" him!...and i only say that because he was an amazing human being as well, who was very messed up on drugs and alcohol in these days, but that next year (1986), he got 100% sober, and helped many, many people do the same; he'd go to the AA meetings, and people in his texas town didnt know him as a "star", he was just a guy trying to stay sober like them, and they all helped each other, and SRV was an amazing dude, a genuine buddha-like soul; his entire AA speech/testimony from those days is on youtube, and its epic, and powerful....anyway, right on, im now subcribed(:
