Grew up listening to this. So many memories associated to songs like this one

Her “getting hit” by a car was the distraction for them to rob the gem from the safe across the street. I grew up listening to Hoobastank after seeing them and Hinder open for Nickelback. Great bands!

The nostalgia as a 90s baby growing up with this song being on a constant rotation in the car lol

I started listening to Hoobastank when I was 21. I still occasionally listen to them at 42. The Reason was a song I played all the time in the mid 2000s. Good song by an underrated band.

wow middle school vibes....still my favorite song to this day! The music video for Same Direction is a follow up to The Reason and completes the story. Brilliant stuff.

One of the best songs of all time! I'm a 90s baby and this song used to play all the time back in the day on MTV and VH1!!

All people need to listen to this song at least once in their life.

It's hard to believe that a group that's been around for 28 years hasn't been heard of by people before

This song this band, so much nostalgia!! I remember coming home from school with my cousins and just hanging out listening to this band. Now that one of us died a couple of years ago she was only 26 🥺 this song hits so different

Hello. Hoobastank are among my favorite bands. I recommend you to listen to "Escape", "Out Of Control", "Same Direction" and "Sing What You Can't Say". These are some of their songs that I think are among the best.

Good taste and the fact you mention the song Sing What You Can't Say means you have digged into their discography, because that specific song isn't one of their most acclaimed yet it is one of many hidden jewels they have

I'm so glad you reacted to this! This band isn't the best in the world but they have some songs that are a must if you're into rock/grunge music, you may like quite a few of their songs. Doug Robb has been improving his voice throughout the years and right now he sounds quite good. My personal recommendations are Can You Save Me, First Of Me, The Fallen, Sing What You Can't Say, More Beautiful and I Don't Think I Love You, a mix of absolute bangers and beautiful ballads

It's one of my favorite music videos ever the whole thing was staged. They were all working together to Rob the pawn shop. There's no context but they probably pawned the gem and just stole it back and they can pawn it again at a different shop and rinse and repeat.

I think the video distracted from the song. She got so caught up in the visuals, then the lyrics of the song got twisted. Great song, great lyrics. Makes me think of Sister Hazel...trying to remember that song.

Oh man Hoobastank was one of my three favourite bands in High School with Linkin Park and The Rasmus. If you want to react to more Hoobastank you should react to Remember Me, Out of Control, Pieces and/or Crawling in the Dark. Great reaction, glad you liked the song and I agree the music video didn't really fit with the tone of the song but it was the early 2000's so you kind of had to be there to get it lmao.

what do you not understand about the video??? the guy run over the chick to distract the shopowner or whoever he was and then the other guys broke in through back door, rob the shop and when were they done she stand up and left with the guy on bike. and in the end of the video the shopowner realized what has happened. ANYWAY you need to look on the part 2 of this story and that is video to song "SAME DIRECTION".. it'll make more sense, i promise...and it's also better song :)

As others have said the video was about a scam. The girl and the car that "hit" her were both in on it. They staged a fake accident. The commotion drew the jewelry store owner out of his shop, leaving it open for the others to rob him blind. What does it have to do with the song? Absolutely nothing!

I still love this long after all these years. The song has nothing to do with the video. A lot of people confuse the two
