Some lyric videos don't even have the correct words, they just put what they think is being sung instead of finding the correct transcription.

Great to see you digging into The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones, the two most important Bands of the 1960's. There must be 100 greatest songs to choose from! You have done a lot of classic Led Zeppelin, but I hope you will finally do more by The Who!!! That will cover the "Big Four" Greatest Rock Bands of all time! Your finally begining Bob Dylan, the greatest, most important songwriter in Pop and Rock history. Dylan's deep writing and unconventional singing were major influences on ALL the top bands of the 60's and 70's.

George Martin was incredible, but he was 15 years older than them, worked for the record company, and Harrison, Lennon, and McCartney basically grew up together in Liverpool, while Martin was from London. Bands worked for the record company, and Martin was the head of Parlophone Records, which was part of EMI. It was unusual for executives to play on pop bands’ records, and Martin played on and helped arrange a lot of Beatles records. He and The Beatles were really as close as record producers got to the bands they recorded.

John Lennon had a band that he invited Paul McCartney to join. McCartney had a friend named George Harrison. He encouraged him to AUDITION for Lennon, and Lennon agreed that George could join. Martin taught them some basics of arranging. He played on some of their recordings.

Cool trivia, the George Martin Solo, it was so complicated that he couldn't do it in the tempo of the song, so he recorded it in a slower tempo and sped it up to match the song.

Wow, I thought it was a harpsichord. I guess piano sped up would give that higher pitch.

George Martin's job in the studio was to capture the Beatles' magic and put it on a record as a producer ... He was considerably older than the band members and was a valuable collaborator. More importantly, he was the one who gave The Beatles a chance to record when all the record labels turned them down in 1962. However, a producer in rock music is not like hip hop or R&B where he/she gotta craft a track and give it to an artist to work on... They also don't usually like going on tour like most rock bands. Many bands worked w/ 1 producer and stuck w/ them for a while... Rush recorded a bulk of album w/ producer Terry Brown (they parted ways in 1983)... Judas Priest worked w/ producer Tom Allom for a decade... Iron Maiden worked w/ producer Martin Birch from 1981 to 1992... Aerosmith used producer Jack Douglas in the 70's... Metallica worked w/ producer Bob Rock from 1990 to 2003... AC/DC had quite a few albums produced by Harry Vanda and George Young from 1975 to 1978, and again in 1986 to '88... None of them were actual band members. But most bands choose to experiment and work w/ different people in order to deliver a product in the studio that will shake things up... Megadeth had worked w/ a number of producers that included Mike Clink, Johnny K, Max Norman, Dan Huff, etc. Rush also worked w/ a number of people from 1984 ...producers like Peter Collins, Rupert Hine, Nick Raskulinecz, etc.

Nice job, I read Lennon was double-tracked on vocals. And Paul and George were also added to the mix. Thanks for the reaction.

John’s vocal was indeed double-tracked. And as usual beautiful harmonies. The lyric video really wasn’t John, Paul & George singing. That’s why I went back and forth. Thanks for reacting to the real guys 😊 If you haven’t listened to “A Day in the Life”, I’d suggest that one. A masterpiece.

I believe that John instructed George M about what he wanted for the song. Not to diss George Martin in any any any way, but in the song's essence, it's the Beatles.

Something that's also important to know when listening to a stereo mix of early Beatles songs is that the important mix was always the mono one, stereo at that time was in it's infancy and considered almost a novelty. The majority of fans had a cheap mono record player and heard new releases on mono radios, and although regular stereo radio broadcasting by the BBC began in the summer of 1962 it wasn't until three years after The Beatles broke up that all the BBC radio channels went stereo. The mix you listened to was the somewhat clumsy attempt that was the norm for those earliest tracks, with hard panning of vocals one side and instruments on the other, although charming to a certain degree, it sounds odd to modern ears. Added to that British studios had yet to be as successful at getting enough bass onto vinyl records, it was something The Beatles were frustrated about when they compared their records sound to the American artists records that they greatly admired. 'In my life' was on the 'Rubber soul' album, and It wasn't until the following album that they finally got enough control over production at EMI studios and they could push it's engineers to develop, innovate and experiment more. The recent release of their popular Red and Blue album compilations has attempted to fix those shortcomings, by using AI technology to isolate vocals and instruments into separate tracks that can now be remixed and enhanced. Previously, sounds that only existed on only two, or at the most four, individual tracks could now be totally isolated. The son of the original Beatles producer has remixed some of the more popular hits, allowing him to place bass guitar, drums and lead vocals central where they sound most natural. Not all his remixes are successful though, and there are many differing opinions from fans which songs have benefited from remixing, particularly those who have grown up with The Beatles music and know it's sounds intimately. There have been so many remasters and remixes over the years so it's often down to personal taste at the end of the day.

So many Beatles cover bands out there making videos disguising themselves as the real thing. When it comes to the Beatles, you're absolutely correct in sticking with the official audio tracks. Peace

Piano solo wa splayed at slow speed and when played back at the regular speed it came out sounding like a harpsichord. Martin had an idea but could not play it at that speed, which he why he played it at a slower play back speed.

MMBxMOB : You definitely need to do a BIT more research. It wasn't ONLY just the voices of John Lennon and Paul McCartney that you seem to be thinking you're hearing.` George Harrison throughout their entire career, and as heard here "IN MY LIFE" (1965), was on his very own, within THE BEATLES, just as much a vital and constant voice in the blend of the three part vocals in Beatles' recordings released and heard from 1962-1970.

It actually is a piano, recorded slowly by George Martin, then played back faster to raise the pitch and give it a harpsichord-like sound.
