That kid on the drums has always fascinated me so much. He did an amazing job nailing this

Seriously man. At that age I was still constantly repeating the basics hoping I'd finally get through a session without fucking up a dozen or so times. He goes completely apeshit on that drum and the end product with all these kids is something Tool themselves would be proud of putting out, even more so see a bunch of 8-15 year olds nail at this level.

Seriously - imagine being at that age playing Danny Carey's beats! I mean, where do you go from there? I need to check out where this kid is now because if he was this good 10-15 years ago...

His name is Cutis something and was the one who requested doing this song.
For as good as they all did, the drummer and bassist were on another planet entirely 🤘🤘
Singer is Kala Scarpinski (She is 21 now and goes by the name Kala Rose, her band is Saving Escape), and she did few more Tool covers after this one. I strongly suggest The Pot (version 2, they have a few The Pot versions, but she is on version2: kzread.info/dash/bejne/e6SnyJaRl9yToLA.html&ab_channel=O%27KeefeMusicFoundation ), and Sober kzread.info/dash/bejne/laiompl7Zsu7YbA.html&ab_channel=O%27KeefeMusicFoundation

Also don't forget her graduation song Crazy Horse. Shows her growth as a vocalist. 🤘🤘❤❤🤘🤘
I absolutely love this cover, it’s one of my all time favourites!! All the kids are so talented but the energy of the drummer gives me so much life 😂
I had just noticed after seeing this multiple times. . . . the bass player is totally leading this group. Watch in the background when showing the drummer. . .you can see the lead singer directly behind the bass player. . . and he is eye contact with her and turning to the drummer as to use his body language for key points in the song. . . That , is true musicianship at its best . . . and kudo's to the lil man with the sticks. Once you key into him, you can hear them sticks all the way through. . . like blue oyster cult and that dang cow bell

I had read somewhere that the bass player was originally trying out to play one of the lead guitars, but nobody else could handle the bass line so he ended up KILLING the baseline!
O'Keefe Music Foundation has so many great cover, they deserve a deep dive.
Seen this cover 100’s of times, and I still get chills the at the first few notes of Kayla singing.
Yes! Thanks for reacting to this. Sober is done by this kids group and Kayla knocks it out of the park. You will love watching any of the covers the O’Keefe foundation does. Thanks again, this made my day!🙏🏼🌹💕🤗

Also Danny Carey responded to that one.
Kala is amazing - I love all the O'Keefe songs with her singing - but for me, the highlight of this one is the drummer just having the time of his life and kicking ass!
Not only the singer, but the bass and drums being so tight made this just SLAM. Amazing job to this band, astounding sound - peroid.
They do such a dead on cover that Tool themselves would be impressed! Love the dude on the drums at the end, beating on them like they owe him money.
All of the covers from this foundation are great.
Hearing that little girl starting off the lyrics gave me goosebumps. These kids did an amazing job covering this song. Like *jaw dropped*
MAD RESPECT!!! Tool has to one of hardest bands to duplicate!!! Well done!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This school teaches all aspects of the music industry. Singing, all instruments, engineering, mixing, videography, producing.....etc
This is my favorite cover of this song. These kids are so inspirational. The drummer, Curtis Moss, is still drumming and has his own KZread channel where he now posts rather infrequently (a few times this past year), his last post being a Slipknot drum cover that's about 2 months old now.
Jesus i feel old. TooL has been my favorite band since 1994 and these kids did a Amazing job.
They're all phenomenal, but that bass player just looks and acts like a pro.
She’s going to go nuts over this!
Great reaction. I remember watching this back in 2013, and being floored by how good these kids are. I love the singer, at the end of the bridge/drum solo (just before the vocals come back in), you can see her hold up 4 fingers, 6 fingers, and 2 fingers thru the window.
All are talented, I heard this cover as soon as it came out on youtube and was blown away, happy to see such school exist and see they cover bands like Tool. Kala "Rose" Scarpinski (singer) still awesome, it's fun to hear her now as her voice didn't really change. Curtis Moss (Drums) still playing drums and has a incredible talent, but he has got even more: the groove. That's what makes difference between drummers. Of course Dany Carey heard them, and if I remember well, he even went in that school to play with students.
OMG I love that girls voice, wat a unique tone! And all these kids are awesome.😳✌️🔥🙏😎
Kala is also singing on "Pull Me Under by Dream Theater / O'Keefe Music Foundation"

Forgot about that one!!!!!
Love your videos. The girl singing is in her own band I believe. The kid on the drums has a big future. Very good for his age.
Every percussion section in every highschool band in America has someone exactly like that kid on the drumset. Total drum nerd.
*I saw those kids play that song many years ago, they did really good.*
I was hoping you would do this one! They are amazingly talented kids doing a very difficult complex beautiful song. I think most adult bands would have a hard time getting this song right. Very inspirational to watch, both for the performance and for the hope that the inextinguishable light of great music will live on in the hearts of the coming generations.
Please do them covering Sober too it’s when they are older it’s amazing

That kid drummer is legit killin it. Crazy
The singer has come back a little more grown covering Sober. Pretty damn good. This foundation is amazing!!!!
The real one who killed it, my guy on the Stix. Everytime on every different reactions he fires me up
This just made my night watching these kids absolutely kill this song. 🤘🏼
The fact that kids of these ages know and appreciate Tool and are competent enough to even attempt a cover on this level alone is amazing. Then they actually recorded the cover and it sounds this good. There are plenty of adult musicians that have years of playing under their belt that wouldn't sound half as good playing this. They clearly have a collective understanding of the band and have proper guidance to help them express themselves through their instruments really well. This foundation knows how to mold kids into great talents. There are plenty of covers from that site that sound just as good.
The kid on bass is incredible
They did Sober and, The Pot in that order with Kayla singing. Amazing! Love the drummers energy
This little drummer is amazing
the students are SO TALENTED
That little girl hits the first word and I got goosebumps goodshit
Aaron O'Keefe is an unusual and talented teacher. Aaron asked Curtis Moss, the drummer, to pick a song for a trip to a recording studio about 6 months to this recording. They practiced and when it was time to record this sparks were flying from the enery. I was in the studio and the sond engineer said "this is amazing ". This was recorded at the Tracking Room in Nashville. The studio gave them a couple hours free of charge. Curtis Moss is now in Nashville with a band call Backhand Blue you can find them on KZread . They are the on there way up.
You come for the bass. You stay for the drums
I see the tears. It moves me as well. I think she actually knows what she's singing. Kids experience things under the Adult radar. They know pain. Think about school. This is why i want to to support them. The kids are smart, they have a better anchor than i did at that age.
Definitely hits me in the feels knowing these "youngsters" are gonna be part of our musical future. Loads n loads of talent 👌 Tip of the hat to O'Keefe for giving these kids a place for their skills flourish!!
OMG, I am so happy to see this reaction !!! The O'Keefe Music Foundation has so many good covers to discover. I hope to see more from you. ✌️♥️
I am 67 years old and listen to this several dozen times a year can’t get enough these kids are awesome
I keep coming back to you…❤️
There are great videos for this singer. Crazy Horse from the Black Label Society is Kayla's last song as part of the O'Keefe Foundation before she aged out of the program. She's amazing.
I was so excited to see you reacting to this. I've seen other people mention her other Tool covers but she also did Crazy Horse by Black Label Society (her's is version two). Also, you should try check out another amazing vocalist, Macy Addis. She does covers of A Perfect Circle, Foo Fighters, and Slipknot. But there are also some amazing versions of Pantera, Ozzy, Highly Suspect, Korn. Definitely worth checking out. Love all your videos though and always pumped when you have a new reaction up.

They did an awesome job.. such a beautiful reaction.. ❤
Great reaction! These kids have done alot of great covers. They have an 8 yr. old singing Slipknot and Korn covers, it's just amazing what they do. You have alot of songs to pick from to react to.
McLovin crushed it on the drums, the bass player is tight in the pocket. Her voice is so refined for such a young age. But I want to give a shot out to my little homie with the sticks. That little dudes energy was the best.
Lots of covers from this group to pick from, but I remember one that sticks out to me was their cover of "The End Of Heartache" by Killswitch Engage. Bro absolutely kills the vocals.
Okeefe does a lot like this. I wish I had this kind of program when I was this age. This foundation teaches kids REAL music.
Great choice, I've seen this and have recommended this many times.
They did a great job!
I’ve watched this Video over 50 times now…..just to see your facial reaction. BEAUTIFUL You are and a GREAT GREAT GREAT reaction as ALWAYS! ❤️💯❤️
They also did a cover of Sober by Tool, the singer is a few years older and she kills it once again.
I found one of their videos about 12 years ago and fell into a rabbit hole. A glorious rabbit hole. A couple years after this they did Sober with the same vocalist. Another one you gotta check out. Way before this video, they did Stop Dragging My Heart Around.
O'Keefe has a ton of great cover song videos. EDIT: O'Keefe Foundation's students' rendition of "The Pot" Version 3 and also The Cure's "Love Song" are both just incredible.
You have got to check out their cover of "Sober" by Tool. OMG...
Wow! I love the way you let it play through the credits to ensure they got their kudos...and no, it's not the same girl.
I can watch you watch videos all day!
I've known Adam Jones since highschool and yes they have seen it and they love it
This is my all time favorite KZread cover, these kids are so incredible
Hail to this incredible Teacher❤❤❤
That was an incredible cover. Mad props to these kids they have incredible futures if they keep on the path. Thank yod for showing me this
Kala/O'keefe playing Crazy Horse by Black Label Society is the icing on the cake
You need to watch them cover "Crazy Horse" when she was 17!!
You need to listen to her at 18 covering Black label society crazy horse. Unbelievable. She grew up and can rock.
You listen with so much passion, it's so obvious in your face. It's beautiful to see.
Great reaction, as usual. You truly are one of the best. These kids are amazing. The bass player & drummer especially. The little singer kinda reminds me of season 1 GOT Aria Stark.

She does!! I just noticed that after you said this. And thank you so much! 🤘🏼
Your facial expressions are amazing. You actually feel what’s going on.
So nice to see young kids who appreciate and can carry forward with not crap musical taste.
the girl on vocals is Kayla Rose. when i first saw this, years ago, I thought she sounded like a younger Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf. she has her own band now and they are killin it. its called Saving Escape
Wowza they sound amazing…. Absolutely amazing
Every time I watch this vid I wanna cry. And I've watched it a lot.
Singer is Kala Rose and she is the singer for Saving Escape now, should check them out. Also they say the kid that played the drums in this one pushed hard to cover this song, I think he wanted the challenge and he nailed it!
I have been a LONG time follower and supporter of OMF. I love what they do. !
You know for a while I thougth rock was dying because not many new bands were coming out and the ones that did were lackluster. During Covid I found so many new bands and these awsome musicians at O'Keefe Music Foundation. Rock is alive and well and it makes me so happy! you should also listen to Nandi Bushell, she's played with Dave Grohl before and now shes going to be playing at Wembley Stadium in a tribute to Taylor Hawkins. She's 12 and plays I think 5 instruments, also sings and writes music. She's a little genius and she's met so many musicians and played with quite a few.
First seeing this - Wow, bass and drums killed it!!! Piano? Why did I miss that from the original.
FYI: Doing this song was the drummer's idea...they practiced their butts off...this is the result...AWESOME!!! Incidentally, he's in college now, and in a band "Hackberrys" in Arkansas. KUDOS to all these kids.
I've always loved this cover. Gives me some hope for the future.
Music genius from kids still incredible cover even now these years later
She actually fronts her own band now, And they have released originals too! Her band is called "Saving Escape"
Crazy Horse Ver 2 by O'keefe is the same girl at 18 yo. She absolutely smashes that one!
46 & 2 I think is my favorite Tool song. Its the kind if song where you put on in the car and crank it so everyone gets to hear it
I keep coming back to this cover because it truly is amazing. Another band I would definitely recommend checking out is The Warning. It’s a hard rock band of 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. All of their songs are great truly, so pick any one you want, but one of my personal favorites is their song EVOLVE!
From the mouth of babes comes Maynard. Amazing stuff from those kids- giving me hope for Rock in the future.
Tool is the new Shakespeare. Students be studying Tool like it's a religion.
Her name is Kayla rose. Now in her own band.
I'm almost positive that Daney has seen this because I've read about it somewhere, the drummer is the one that stands out for me and her vocals are so different but they just fit, lol
Clean as funk shes fantastic ..the bassist and the drummer are silly good ..

That little drummer is incredible, you ain't kidding. I was blown away when I saw this. They are all massively talented.
Check out their Sober cover. She sings on that as well and is quite a bit older. She’s an incredible singer.
Danny carry sat in on drums for a couple of girls covering ‘The Pot’ for charity. The video is on KZread. Apparently he was friends with one of the audience members and got a call before hand. He really does seem like a decent guy.
