I'm 62 years old, and I remember my mother being completely in love with Tom Jones back in the '60s. He had a television variety show for a while, which was must-watch TV in our house! And now, 60 years later, he's still having that effect on young women. Most of us guys wish they could figure out how to bottle whatever it is that Tom Jones has, so we could just splash a bit on each morning.

Trust me Britt, His "panty-dropping" legend has been "cemented" for more than 55 (+) years!!! Sir Tom Jones is Welsh, he was "Knighted" by the Queen of England and he is a "Living Legend" till this day in 2023!!! He was close friends with Elvis, Stevie Wonder, Cher, etc...and he has always sung with a "Soulful" style!!! He is now in his early 80's, he's a Judge on the TV Show "The Voice UK" and the man at his age can still belt out those notes like it's nobody else's business!!! Thanks for reacting to this one...now you know why it was requested that you check out this performance too!!! Well done my friend...

Peter Donegan, son of music legend Lonnie Donegan, was on "The Voice UK" a couple years ago with one wish; to get Tom Jones to turn his chair! Peter’s father toured with Tom Jones back in the day and even wrote 'I'll Never Fall in Love Again" personally for Tom Jones. Once Tom realized who Peter was, one of the most magical moments on The Voice happened! They sang the song together! Tom is 80 years old here and his voice never sounded better, it'll bring a tears to your eyes, magical! Just copy and paste the words in the parenthesis "Peter Donegan sings ‘Bless the Broken Road’ & ‘I'll Never Fall In Love Again’ | The Voice Stage #58" in the KZread search bar, and your there.

So glad you reacted to this version of the song. In this video you can really hear just how powerful of voice he had. He's also a judge on the Voice England. One year the son of the man that wrote this song was on the show. Since the man had the same last name Tom asked him if he know Lonnie Donegan and found out it was his son. They ended up singing this song together on the show.

Tom rivals Elvis with the pure masculine power of his voice while also being adept at subtlety when needed. Both were the old school Panty Dropper Kings! Other great live Tom Jones songs sung live in 60's and 70's that you'd love....Deliah, I Who Have Nothing, Without Love among many others. The studio version of the later hit Sex Bomb is also great.

At his peak, this guy was a king of the panty dropping club. During concerts, female fans would throw underwear and hotel keys on stage. He was also very close pals with Elvis. Imagine the reaction when both were just hanging out together. And yes, this was a live performance. Most audiences were respectful back then, they kept quiet until the end.

A lot of years later, he became a coach on the The Voice UK. Jennifer Hudson was one for a while as well. If you have the urge to watch two of the greatest voices ever singing together, you should look up the clips of their apparently impromptu vocal jousts. Tom was a little past his best by then but I would have loved to hear those two sing together while both in their prime. It was pretty incredible anyway and you could see the mutual respect. One of the songs was “It’s a Mans World” and I can’t quite remember the other. Someone will let you know though.

You're so great, Britt. I'm thrilled that you went back to grab the 1967 version. It seems to be the one far more commonly viewed, and it really shows off his raw talent brilliantly. It's funny that you would induct him into the "panty dropping" club, because at his live performances, women in the audience were constantly literally throwing pairs of panties up onto the stage. It became his trademark! 🤣

Hey Britt this song was written for Tom by British singer/songwriter, Lonnie Donegan. Fast forward to 2019 thereabouts and Tom is a judge on The Voice:UK and a singer does a blind audition and impresses him. Unknown to Tom at this moment is that the singer he’s just heard is the late ……… Lonnie Donegan’s SON!! They then both do an impromptu performance if I’ll Never Fall in love, of you search VOICE UK TOM JONES PETE DONEGAN you’ll probably find this piece of TV MAGIC! 😊

This actually WAS on a show....live. I know you said you liked the version sung in Chile, but I am thinking you are liking this younger, more powerful version a pinch more. And to think, one take, no remake, no remix, no auto-tune. He and Elvis were really close. Although Elvis started before him, Tom seems to have picked up some of the mannerisms and body language from Elvis. Here is another video from Tom's t.v. show. It shows a little bit different side of him and will give you more of the point for him to be in the PDC. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fZ9_tq-ogtaThLg.html
