Linda Davis is so under rated and under appreciated for her spectacular voice and ability

She did this live with her daughter-in-law Kelly Clarkson live, and re-recorded it more recently with Dolly. I love anything Reba touches!

Anyone else old enough to remember the absolute uproar over The Dress??🙄😂 Reba said she literally heard a collective gasp & thought ‘Uh-oh.’🤣🤣 I never saw a problem w it but now there is DEFINITELY no problem w it & you’re 💯 right- it is iconic. Reba recently (yes!) appeared live in the dress at an awards show performance and, as they say- the crowd went wild!! Linda Davis was a backup singer & dancer for Reba. After this duet, she even had a few solo hits herself. Long before Reba did a Vegas residency (with Brooks & Dunn), her concerts were like a Vegas show. When she wore it during the fancy reveal, it's AWESOME! And she was just joking about the dress being backwards, it was on correctly, people were just uptight.

Country chops are in Linda's bloodline.She harmonized so well with Reba she was her background singer.Her daughter is also in a current country group.They were going to pair her with someone else.Then heard Linda and said nope,she's the one.

It was always supposed to be Linda… that is how Reba wanted it… the producers were giving Reba names of other popular artists for Linda’s part… Reba told the producers just to listen to the song with Linda as the other voice…. Then the producers realized that Reba was right the whole time by pushing Linda for the part

Linda had been, and still is, one of Reba's backup singers. When she's not off on a solo gig, you'll typically find her working with Reba. I met Linda at a Reba show. I'd bought one of her t-shirts, and got in line to get it signed. She was so thrilled I bought a shirt! Nice lady, and a hell of a singer!

You really need to see the music videos for both, "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia, and this song. The stories played out in the videos will be cemented into your mind forever.

Girl you owe it to yourself to watch the official music video. You would love it! I also recommend watching Martina McBride and Kelly Clarkson do the song during Reba's CMT Giants concert. They're both so sassy and Reba looks so tickled watching them perform it together.

Their voices are so similar that make their harmonies so tight that it is absolutely incredible! I always thought it was one of the best songs ever! Both women are so beautiful and talented! Such a wonderful performance!

I was all of 6ish and this is still one of my all time favorite duets.

What I find really cool about this song is the refrain. They are singing the same questions, but they have very different answers for each girl. "Does he love you, like he loves me?" You love your wife very differently that you love your mistress. Reba is asking "do you get that endless, committed love that I have". Linda is asking does he love you with passion and desire. "Does he whisper all his fantasies?" Fantasies with your wife are life goals. Things you want to accomplish together. Fantasies with your lover are more; hey baby, can you do that thing you do, or can you wear that little dress I love. It's a really interesting dynamic.

This is a classic performance. Your response that they don't do music like this anymore, is why so many of us are disappointed in today's country music. There were some incredible talents back in the day. I think that is Vince Gill at the end of the performance. He is an impressive singer in his own right and would be worth checking out. Some songs of his that would make good reactions: One More Last Chance Go Rest High On That Mountain Oklahoma Borderline. He has many great songs and I doubt you could pick a bad one but those are where I would start with him.

This was Linda Breakout single in country and had worked w/ REBA as back up a couple years @ the point She came in board when REBA's. Band members were killed in a plane crah. Linda was part of a Christian group. Linda Scott and the Scott Family before REBA. She's Also the Mother of Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum (now) known as Lady A ... The Infamous RED dress dropped jaws everywhere on it's debut ... IT was the talk of the TOWN for weeks 😂 REBA had Always been My Go to entertainer and had NO Equal in MY world until recovering from open heart surgery in 2016 and I stumbled on Angelina. Now I have Lots of entertainers I follow but REBA and Angelina are my top 2 Go to 🙂

Yeah, that's one of the most famous/infamous dresses in country music awards history. I came here just for your reaction to "The Dress." LOL And if I'm not mistaken, that dress is on display in the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.

Reba has sung this song with many people in concert. Reba would often sing it with a female singer she was on tour with. She has even sung it with Linda Davis’s daughter Hillary - who is part of the band Lady Antebellum (their biggest country/pop hit was “Need You Now”. Liza was sitting next to Billy Stritch - one of her best friends and collaborators. I believe he co-wrote the song. Vince Gill (the guy at the end) jokes about Reba finally having a good duet partner because Reba sang a duet with him and I think it became his first top 10 hit early in his career.

Ok, it’s the 90’s we were still wearing big hair and the dresses were formal back then, our prom dresses were long, some had hoops, but never did we have to worry about bending and someone seeing our unmentionables. Like I told my daughter “reach up, touch your toes, if anything shows, go change your clothes “.

In all my years this is one of the only times you saw an award show crowd of peers applaud during a performance...that speaks VOLUMES!!!

This is what I would say also.

Reba is from Oklahoma and speaks with a pronounced southern Okie accent which really comes though in her singing voice. She's sassy as hell! You would enjoy her song "Why Haven't I Heard From You". Country Music ladies didn't let the Hollywood Oscar crowd get anything over on them! The hair and gowns they wore in the past were pretty spectacular, particularly at award shows. That lifted hairdo has been "jacked up to Jesus"!

See if you can find an interview with Reba about the "Red Dress". She had no idea it would be see-through, and almost gave her mama a heart attack!
