Norman Rockwell is an iconic American painter known to depict everyday idyllic American life (look his works up, you'll recognize many!), she is trying to subvert the notion that life isn't idyllic like a Norman Rockwell painting. she draws heavy classic soft rock inspiration from his era. This album cemented LDR as the greatest living American songwriter by many publications!

Best American Record was originally a sad song, it was made without Jack, there's a version of it with its original sad lyrics, it made a lot more sense lyrical and melodicly. Lana changed most of the lyrics to fit NFR, but the original version was AMAZING!

NFR is an entire category in itself, so above any music ever created. The reaction was FULFILLING for my soul , people recognizing how impeccable this album and Lana Del Rey is in general. Cannot wait for the Ocean Blvd reaction !

norman rockwell is painter who painted the classic american life in the 60s but also included hints of huge issues and american ideology’s during the time. he painted a very famous picture of a black girl being escorted into school during the civil rights movement which was obviously controversial. her adding the fucking into his name is her just being like norman FUCKING rockwell like an embrace of the classic but also a critique on it. she believed a lot of big issues from the 60s were still at large in 2019

I don't care about awards and stuff, but this NFR not winning the Grammy legit pissed me off so much

Bro, this is one of the greatest albums ever made in recent years. Ultraviolence continues to be my favorite album of hers, but this just shows how creative she remains and with a very badass production

While this is my favorite Lana album, I do think that the non Jack Antonoff produced tracks (Doin Time, Next Best American Record, and Bartender) don’t sonically fit in with the rest of the album. Still it’s one of the greatest albums of the 21st century. So happy you guys listened to it! Very excited to see what you think of the next 3.
