George is the king. He's got so many hits. My favorite is "Babys gotten good at goodbye" You should watch the movie he played in called Pure Country.

My favorites from Miranda are "The House That Built Me", "Me and Charlie Talking", "Bring Me Down" and "Over You", which was written by Blake Shelton. You have to see the video for "Over You"!

This is a teaching opportunity that I would like to exploit. Mr. Strait, like myself, is from south Texas and the real thing in that he, too, was raised on a cattle ranch and is not, as the saying goes, "All hat and no cattle." It is important to mention at this point that he had been singing in dance halls in and around Texas for years before having his first recording published and released in 1981. Prior to that time, there had been on the radio, "Country and Western" music and there were "C&W" clubs and dance halls too. Great vocalists from Texas like Dan Seals, Paul Davis and elsewhere, including Michael Martin Murphey, were told to "...loose the hat!" They did and experienced success, in the 1970s, as vocalists singing popular romantic songs with orchestrations not unlike modern interpretations of compositions for Sinatra, Martin, Como and Andy Williams of the 50s and 60s. Thus, Western music was relegated to the trash heap of modern radio played music. It as about 1980 when all that changed...in a big way! Radio stations no longer played "Western" music like Marty Robbins great western hits like "Saddle Tramp," "Tumblin' Tumble Weeds" or "El Paso." Radio stations stopped calling themselves "Country and Western" but simply "Country music stations." However, this movement which reportedly began in Nashville, disenfranchised Texas artists like Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and more and together they began what became known as the "Outlaw Country" music movement. They refused to be what the Nashville publishers wanted of them and went on to play music they enjoyed and that praised Texas and the south west. They also praised their predecessors of the 40s and 50s including Ernest Tubb and Bob Wills who were famous for "Western Swing" which was dance music so popular in all over Texas and nearby states. At the start of the 1980s, those artists who had previously put away their hats, put them back on and went on to have great success in Country music and with more than a few Western music songs including Dan Seals who, with his hat on, recorded hits like "Meet me in Montana" with the beautiful and talented Marie Osmond and "Everything that Glitters in Not Gold" and the retro sounding dance song, "Bop!" Paul Davis recorded an album of western hits and Michael Martin Murphey who had recorded a beautifully orchestrated song entitled "Wildfire!" which had been a popular music hit in the late 1970s leveraged that success to build a truly great western music singing and touring career with several western music hits including, "Tie Knots in the Devil's Tail," "Red River Valley" and the fun song "Cowboy Logic." It is my opinion that the unknown singer from south Texas named George Strait, who refused to "....loose the hat" and who had his first country music hit in 1981, served as the catalyst for these older artists to express more fully themselves and opened doors for a whole new set of artists including Garth Brooks, Mark Chesnutt, Clint Black, Toby Keith and Alan Jackson, all of them wearing hats! All of these artists went on to have many great country music hits and many of them included in their albums at least one classic western music hit including George Strait who, early in his career, recorded "Amarillo by Morning" which was another western swing song popular in the dance halls. Singing in Spanish went away in 1980 with Western music where it had been previously appreciated. Without a radio venue, Tejano artists sought, like Willie and Waylon, to publish their own music and charter their own radio stations with "Tejano" music. Many singing artists from Texas have had great success in Country and Western music but only a few had success singing in Spanish which includes Marty Robbins, Freddy Fender, Johnny Rodriguez, Emilio Navaira and George Strait who sang the classic Mexican romantic song, "El Rey" with beautifully articulated Spanish. Thus, Mr. Strait, who now resides outside San Antonio, did much more than have more number one hits than any other American recording artist, more than 60, he helped to preserve Western music and Western Muisc sung in Spanish as well. I encourage you to continue this journey into country AND western music and also enjoy some "Cajun" music from our good neighbors in Louisiana and "Tejano" music from my relatives in south Texas, neighbors with Mr. Strait. It is not an exaggeration to say that Mr. Strait is both the most successful and influential country music and western music singer of the 20th century and beyond.

I grew up on George Strait. This song, and few others have been my go to songs when my husband was away for work for months at a time. I was living in Texas, waiting, this was on repeat.

Check out more Miranda. Terrific singer and songwriter. Everything she touches is gold. She has many duets that are amazing. If you sing with Miranda, you're on your way.

George is timeless and Miranda packs a punch. She’s such a spitfire. You should check out Jamie Foxx’s tribute to George a few years ago (You Look So Good In Love.) And for a taste of Miranda’s take no prisoners attitude, you have to hear Gunpowder and Lead. Automatic is also a must. Great reaction! ♥️

Watch Mianda do hey there Mr Tim Man after her break up with Blake Shelton. It was the first time Blake missed the CMAs and no George Straight is just as fine as he was 30 years ago!

Clint Black - "Like The Rain" is one of my favorite songs. I think you'll love him. He's another 90's great country singer, my favorite.

His song The Chair is very clever. Miranda has a lot of amazing songs. Tin man is after her divorce from Blake. Gunpowder and lead. Kerosene. Not my mommas broken heart. Just to name a few

Back when I first started getting into country, listening to some on the radio, I always favored female vocalists and some songs in particular I'd look forward to. I find out later all those songs are Miranda Lambert. I now listen to a lot of country, but she is still my favorite. Her voice is something beautiful and she has some great songs.

Miranda Lambert sings a song called AUTOMATIC you should really do that one every lyric is so true I think you would love it.

The king & Queen of Country actually singing together. He's been The King for a long time. Miranda is the most most decorated Female by surpassing Reba. She took Entertainer of the Year this past ACM's! The first time in 17 yrs she had to miss them because she was touring overseas & had to do it over video on the show. So great she won it, but wishing she would've been there to except it! But it still she got it!! Until a few weeks when the new one's are awarded. She had her name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! She owns her own winery, she has her own bar in Tennessee! Etc....Oh, and a gorgeous husband!! 🧚🏻‍♀️💜🧚🏻‍♀️💜

You are correct, King George DOES NOT AGE. Tim McGraw is the same. Miranda is the definition of a Sassy and Bad Ass Country artist….She sets the standard for modern country music just like Loretta Lynn did in old school country!!! Tin Man at the ACMs is a MUST!!!! It is my favorite Miranda song and I love all of her songs. She wrote it while she was going through the divorce from Blake. Blake is in the audience with Gwen at this ACM performance. Miranda is so talented and she is a living country legend IMO. PLEASE, PLEASE do this one ASAP. Blake and Miranda wrote so many beautiful songs while they were together but my favorite Miranda album is the one she wrote during the heartbreak of their divorce. Miranda is one of those rare artists that I can always listen to her albums from start to finish bc every song is so good. It's really difficult to pick a favorite of George's songs because there are just so many, but this one has always been high up there for me. Taylor Swift did a pretty good cover as a tribute to him if you're interested in hearing it again.
