He dresses like Country, has the hair for Rock & Roll, wrings the blues out of his guitar. But has the voice of soul. Chris Stapleton is his own genre.

Its a shame that BB is gone, I would loved to have heard Chris Stapleton and BB King sing together.

I'm getting a whole lot of Blues in this song as well. What I don't get is Country and I've been a country music fan since the 1960's. I've never heard another artist in this genre sing like this. I've heard emotion, pain, heartache, etc., but never delivered like this. He's very unique and extremely talented. Thanks for reacting to this masterpiece!

How many people in ANY genre can sing like this? Lol. Only Chris! I think the audience is quiet because it's a televised awards show and they're told by producers when they can stand, clap, make noise, etc. It would suck to watch it on tv and only be able to hear crowd noise. I'm sure it's hell on sound engineers to try to get a clean sound and recording with a roaring crowd. Stapleton fans make a LOT of noise in person. It's the Country Music Awards, so the audience is very familiar with what Chris brings. 😉 It would be hard to appreciate it quietly, though. One of many reasons I'll never be in a live audience like that. One of many, many ... many reasons .... 🤣
