The Dolly musical has not come out, but there are two TV movies about Dolly's life growing up "Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors"(2015) which is about the story of the song and "Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love (2016). They both have the same cast of people and Dolly is in the second one playing another character that the little Dolly like, but not her Dolly's mother.

9 to 5 was from the early '80s... Excellent movie, with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin... She was also in "Steel Magnolias", and many more... Carrie was just a baby when it came out... The movie she was referring to ending up being the made for TV movie "Coat of Many Colors", and it had a sequel too... "Christmas of Many Colors"

Aunt Dolly is not only a national treasure to America, she is also an international treasure we need to protect. Dolly Parton came from a loving family, but was very very poor growing up. She has always stayed humble and true to here roots in country music. What would you do if you ever got to meet and chat with the legendary Aunt Dolly or Aunty Reba? Now that would be one hell of a reaction video to watch. Love ya Britreacts from Tairawhiti/Gisborne here in the beautiful Aotearoa/New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❤️

Without a thought she said, "Well we just washed as far down as possible and then we washed up as far as possible. And then we run the boys outside and washd possible."

I don't know if you've ever seen Steel Magnolias (you should, if you haven't), but I played Dolly's part when we did it at our community theater. Now ... I very much DON'T look like Dolly and it took a lot to win the audience over to my interpretation if they showed up expecting a Dolly-like character. LOL

A few years back her hometown caught fire. A few died and the area was destroyed. Homes lost. Dolly came and gave every one a place to stay as well as money till they got on their feet again. She gave monthly checks. My daughter went to help out and she gave her years passes to dollywood for her and my grandchildren. Dolly is the kindest, sweetest ever. We Tennesseans love her to pieces. She also gives each child born in tennessee a book every month until they are 5 from her imagination library. Shes really amazing. So kind , humble, funny, so so funny. She never had children but lost one and was heartbroken. She is definately the heart of Tennessee. We adore her

The lyrics is Dollys own words to Porter Wagoner. He would not listen when she tried do tell him she had to move on. So she wrote him this song to make him listen. That is why the song is with another type of feelings.. She is ending their work together (1967-1974 The Porter Wagoner show) Listen to the lyrics again and you will hear her "talking " to him.

The best little whorehouse in texas (1982) Never saw this whole movie, but I seen pieces and she sings in it 3. Steel Magnolia with Julia Roberts (1989) Another favorite 4. Rinestone with Sylvester Stalone (1984) 5. Smokey Mountain Christmas (My favorite) 1986 she sings throughout this movie 6. Wild Texas wind (1991) 7.Straight Talk (1992) 8.Unlikely Angel (1996) 9. Blue Valley Songbird (1999) 10. Gnomeo and Juliet (Voice over in 2011) 11.Joyful Noise with Queen Latifah & Kiki Palmer I think her name is (2012) 12.Coat of Many colors (potrayed her actual life growing up) 2015 She also has a song out called Coat of many colors that tells about how she grew up and how her mom sewed together a coat for her made from only rags. You should definitely react to that one soon. 13. Dolly Parton's Christmas on the square.

Dolly started to gain some fame when Porter Wagoner hired her to be his"girl singer" on The Porter Wagoner Show and when she decided to go out on her own he got very mad at her and sued her and stuff. She said he just wouldn't stop yelling long enough to listen so she wrote I Will Always Love You for him. She said he cried when he heard it but i think she still had to pay him, I can't remember about the final payoff but she's very open about it. She used the Whitney profits to buy Dollywood. I heard her say that just a few weeks ago on The Sherri Shepherd show I think it was.

Dolly said “Elvis was set to record I will Always Love You but, the night before the session, Colonel Tom [Parker, Presley’s longtime manager] called me and said, ‘You know, we don’t record anything with Elvis unless we have at least half the publishing.’ I said, ‘I can’t do that.’ And he said, ‘Well, then we can’t do it.’ And I cried all night, because I’d just pictured Elvis singing it. I know it wasn’t [his decision], but it’s true. I said no.” Dolly wrote the song for Elvis to sing.. The world missed out on that

You must see the movie 9 to 5. Dolly is fabulous in it .. as is Jane Fonda and also Lily Tomlin. You will love it, I think, do let us know. It's pretty old now but I imagine it will hold up well.

Dolly wrote that to Porter Wagner, who was in love with her but couldn’t have her.

Believe me, Dolly can belt out a song. You haven't heard all her songs. "Mule Skinners Blues" "Light of a clear blue morning" "Why'd you come in here looking like that" " The Seeker" "All l can do" You need to listen to her sing "He's Alive". It will give you chills.

Carrie has an amazing voice... end of story... but she's no Dolly... has she ever written a song... no.. Dolly knows her place.. song writing and the sweetness of her voice.. Dolly ain't taking a back seat.. she's Dolly but she will let others shine... That's why we love her...American Treasure...

Dolly twice put this song to the top spot on the chart ,in 1974 and again in 1982 Whitney recorded it in 1992 so it's a song that stood the test of time

Britt, unless i missed it, i dont believe you've reacted yet to Angelina Jordans rendition of I Will Always Live You at 11 years old. Please give it a listen, i think you will enjoy it immensely. Naturally, she puts her own twist on it. Dolly and Carrie are a great duo!!
