Great song. The last day my dad was alive. I stood all day beside his bed holding his hand to let him know he was not going through this alone as he lay in and out of conscientiousness. Mom was gone, so I had to fill in and and be by his side to the end. I wanted to tell him all about the good times we had, but didn't want to make he feel sad he was dying. He said the room was full of butterflies, so I was happy his last day was filled with peace and beauty. I miss my Dad.

Before he go really sick I thanked him and told him what a wonderful (single parent) dad he was and how greatful I was to have him. Later when he was more sick I told him Dad, it's OK to go now. Later he sat straight up w/eyes wide opened and stared ahead for at least 15 second then lay back down. He SAW something! My sister was with him all night when she took a short nap he died. Everyone can be worthy with the righteousness of Jesus. Billy Graham said that when he meets God he won't tell God about all he has done. Billy said that he would claim the blood of Christ for his righteousness. We are saved by faith, not of works lest any man should boast. Our righteousness is as filthy rags to God. The only way to heaven is by accepting the free gift of life from Jesus.

This one gets me every time and I've seen it sooo many times over the years! Glad you got to experience this one. Give Tim McGraw's video (do the video) of "Humble and Kind" a watch. And/or "Live Like You Were Dying." Or if anyone in your life has been touched by breast cancer (any kind, really), Martina McBride's, "I'm Gonna Love You Through It." It is a true story. The singer Ronnie Dunn had the friendship with the old man. Beautiful song, and I cried listening to it. I am 66 w m and had the same experience in my small town in Delaware. Mr George was a great black man that used to sit on a restaurant steps and I was like 9 years old and my mom used to work at the restaurant and I would sit there and Mr George would tell me stories about life. He had lost one of his legs years ago. This song really hits home to me.

Fast forward to now, 2023. There are WWII vets going to Arlington and crying, because they say they can't believe that the country they sacrificed for, and that their friends died for, has become what it is today.

Everyone cries! Still to this day I can’t hear it without bawling, my eyes out. Plus, Ronnie Dunn’s voice is deep haunting, beautiful. True story written by Ronnie Dunn and Craig Wiseman.. as the boy grew up, he was questioning his faith throughout.!

This always makes my throat burn every time I hear it. This right here is what being American is, believing. And being there, for each other, regardless of color or creed. That old man was an absolute angel on earth in Dunn’s life. Only hope we can all aspire to be like him. Bless everyone from my heart ! This is what they call Gospel country for anybody that's curious .

If you can listen to this song and not cry there is something wrong with you. Don't be afraid to shed tears. Everyone dies, we all bury loved ones and no one can escape from this reality if you live a life. I have watched dozens of reactions to this song and most cry. It means you're human. They were Country Music Duo of the Year multiple times along with so many other awards and had a huge career. Ronnie Dunn had his own "Mr. Wrigley" in his life and wrote this song from true heartfelt emotion. They do have some great upbeat songs too! Try "Boot Scootin' Boogie"!

This song takes down a fair amount of reactors, its human to feel and react. Ronnie Dunn (guy singing) was in Seminary to become a Preacher before he was a country singer, he got caught singing in bars on the weekends and got kicked out, thus how he ended up in Nashville as one one of the greatest Country music OG's of our generation...and how he can kill these Southern Country Gospel type songs. He has incredible vocal skills.
