nice! Let's go down the game cinematic rabbit hole !! :D WOW expansion cinematics were always bangers - they were always of the best quality available at that time. BTW, apart from cool music videos League has some pretty nice champion trailers and cinematics (not only seasonal cinematics but also story driven!) I think it would be nice to spin that wheel more around october in preparation to Arcane S2 ;)

in World of Warcraft there is really no "good or bad" side. but in this expansions (The Battle for Azeroth) the lady in the trailer (Sylvanas Windrunner) is the antagonist and is leading the Horde down a path without honor. The Horde and Alliance usually have a common enemy in the game and neither side has clean hands in their past. So you get to chose which side (or you can play on both) you want to swear your alliance to and the other is, in your eyes, the "bad guy". hope this helps!

While there isn't supposed to be a good or bad side, Blizzard has been bad with making the horde look any good. Its a little better in dragonflight now that they finally past giving them an evil warchief plotline, the horde is legit full of races who have major skeletons to their pasts. The skeletons of the alliance pale in comparison to anything like what the orcs or undead did. The horde is a history of disfunction in general.

@@calronkeltaran493 the problem was they didn´t build it up properly. Sylvanas´ reasoning was explained in a side story to be read on the website and if you did, you understood that her actions did indeed fit her character. But excluding that part from the game was what put the fans of and let it feel like it came out of nowhere.

@@Tyarrk I know a part of it or to be more clear: I have heared of it but maybe you can fill some of my gaps here. the main gripes I have personaly was the siege of Teldrassil and the outcome of it. apparently there is also a book covering this story and it does a MUCH better job of doing so than the game does but it also seemed, that WOW retconned some parts of the story to make her more evil. noatlby how the fight vs malfurion went (in book she bashed him around and threw him into saurefangs axe as he arrived vs sourfang saved sylvannas with a backstab and felt guilty about it) and how the victims of the war where treated (in wow sylvannas didn't care about civilloians and sourfang did everything to lessen their pain during the attack while the book didn't mention it). finaly there was the burning of the tree, wich seemed realy random. sure sylvannas wanted to break the N11 morale but also wanted to take teldrassil as a bargain chip to keep the N11 out of the war and the alliance out of kalimdor. forgot how this was explained in the book. ofc later we also got the infamous duell vs sourfang and her "the horde is nothing" quote that basicly came out of nowhere. all to make her look as evil as possible to the players for no reason

Oh hey, if you get into the WoW cinematics, there are like 4+ hours of HD cinematics and like 12+ hours of a bit lower quality story and stuff. I've played WoW since 2004 so I am biased when I say I love ALL of their cinematics. If you want to get into it, I'd suggest you start from the beginning, the Warcraft 3 Cinematics then moving into World of Warcraft Classic -> The Burning Crusade -> Wrath of the Lich King -> Cataclysm -> Mists of Pandaria -> (All of the Lords of War and then the Draenor cinematic) -> (All of the Warbringers and then Legion + 'Rejection of the Gift') - > (All of the pre-Battle for Azeroth, Battle for Azeroth and post-Battle for Azeroth cinematics ''really good animation and story imo''), you just watched the Battle for Azeroth expansion cinematic and then the Dragonflight/War Within. You will notice how much cinematics and visuals improve throughout the years, and if nothing else, the art team at Blizzard has been keeping the game afloat for a lot of the time. Just like any other game it has had it's ups and downs. I can't say I haven't spent stupid amounts of hours in it. I always like watching people who have little to no information about the game/story react and try to make assumptions about characters :D Hope you enjoy your time! Been subbed for a while so adding yet another *hopefully* series of yours that I will keep watching 👀 edit: to add on the Warcraft movie stuff, I REALLY liked the effects and animations the whole lot, however... As a diehard lore fan, they changed quite a few very important lore moments, that people who have read the books (like me) were kinda 'ehh', but as a movie I don't have any complaints, sadly it didn't make enough money so they probably won't make another one, and the game has been kind of on the low side these past 4-5 years, I haven't heard anything at least, but never losing hope maybe some day they will make a series or more movies or something~

I found this on Quora: Theatrical quality animation, which is essentially what AAA video games provide in their cinematics now, if you are reasonably efficient cost around $10,000 per finished second, and average about 40 to 50 man-hours per finished second (not including overhead workers: management, coordinators, IT, PAs, etc.). World Of Warcraft Legion Cinematic looks like it was cut down from a larger work. There’s about 270 seconds of finished animation. That would equate to around $3M USD and 12,000 man-hours of production work. That 4-5 minutes could be accomplished in about 80 man-months, or around 9-12 calendar months with a 20-person team, (hiring is staged because work has to waterfall from one department to the next. I.e. models have to be built before they can be animated.)

Random game dev here - answering the question about how much it costs to produce a CG video is a tricky one - one kinda has to calculate all the salaries of each person working on the specific video while not counting hours while specialists working on other tasks(which they do). Writer/game designer usually start by writting a plot for a video, even if it's short, while trying to give concept artists tasks of characters and location that hasn't been detailed enough before - this stage can get reset and re-approved multiple times, then you have storyboard drawn, then you employ modelling -> motion artist -> post effects with the help of tech artist. Last stage is biz-dev, who decides when and where it will be shown and can send it back for re-cuts for different purposes.

YEEES, FINALLY WOW REACTIONS LET'S GOOOOOOOO, Please Luke react to all the expansions cinematic trailers, there is probably a video about it somewhere! So you can get in place, here is a quick resume of the WoW factions: Aliance (Blue): Humans Night elves Dwarfs Gnomes Huargen (werewolfs) And a bunch more but basically what you would expect to be more "human-like" creatures Horde (red): Orcs Tauren (minotaurs) Goblins Undead Blood elves Trolls Basically what you would expect to be "magical creatures" and a bunch of furries closely connected with nature Then you have the "bad guys" like the Lich King, Deathwing (a dragon), and much more who are neutral like the demons hunters but there is just too much lore for a single comment... There is (mostly) no good or bad between the Alliance or Horde, all depends on who is in charge at the moment. Sylvanas (the elf you see in the video) is known to be an undead whom soul was split and only misery and hatred remained in her body, that's why her dark powers etc, she is also a "main" villain of the Shadowlands expansion and of course has commited mass murder of innocent people.

Gave me chills when Sylvanas, even though she's a villain in this part of the story, screamed, "FOR THE HORDE!!!" knowing she's a banshee and she was using her scream to do so.

08:11 I loved the Warcraft movie❣ AMAZING reaction, just found your channel. This is one part of a series of cinematics that is like a mini movie and it is a GREAT story. I saw you watched WotLK, then watch these WoW cinematics in this order to get the whole story: Old Soldier (which is what happened right before this battle but was released right after this BFA cinematic), Lost Honor, Safe Haven, Reckoning, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Cinematic Trailer. For the Horde!!! Belf Ret Pally here : D .

Nice~! You should check out the BFA Cinematics and Old Soldier ones to get a good idea of the story, would love to see it! Also, Warbringers: Jaina would be top of my list of things to check out! In fact, the entire "Warbringers" mini-series is fantastic.

You have to choose the faction you want to play in the beginning of the game: horde or alliance. You choose for every hero/character, so you can play both factions on one account. I cannot comprehend how it feels to watch this without knowing anything about the game. I have been playing WoW for 18 years and i know everything about it, i am an absolute lore geek. And especially the cinematics tell sooo much lore. Yes, you can understand them without knowing the story behind it (because the creative team is AMAZING!), but with knowledge about the story, they become soooo much more. I love your Kpop reactions (you upgraded your filmsetting from the attic to a room^^) and i love trailer and cinematic reactions. So, yes to more WoW cinematics! Oh, and you should watch the Diablo 4 cinematic "by three they come". This is my all time favourite blizzard cinematic EVER! And i am not a Diablo player^^ When you are amazed by the level of detail in this one, you should also watch The War Within. Its Blizzard/WoW most recent one and Anduin looks completly real in that one * - *

Some deserved criticism regarding some story aspects, but still an entertaining piece of media, in the end. And the orcs' CGI was pretty epic, tbh

Great reaction 👍 I hope you go through each of them in order, even the old cinematics from the 2000s would blow your mind because of the quality. I agree with you, i liked the movie which is rare for a WoW player to publicly admit. The reason is, in brief, cut content and changed storyline from the games. Before WoW, there were 3 RTS games from the 1990s- early 2000s. The movie is loosely based off the storyline for the original Warcraft game. It is one of the rare instances where a multi-season show would be needed just because of the amount of lore and multiple storylines.

Great reaction to one of the best cinematic trailers of any game in my opinion. I did play World of Warcraft from launch until a bit into Cataclysm, skipped a couple of expansions and got into Legion and stopped after Shadowlands. I enjoyed the movie a lot. It was a shame that it did not do well enough to continue making more. A lot of people already recommended to watch more of Blizzard cinematics. I just wanted to let you know that if you want to follow the story you should look up videos where important in game cutscenes are added. I have seen quite a few people reacting to cinematics only and then they want to know more about what is going on, because going through many years of expansions in a couple of cinematics will obviously leave out a lot. But I can also understand that it is too time consuming to do. Whatever you decide, I hope you have fun!

I've been playing WoW since the first expansion (Burning Crusade). For the record, I LOVED the movie. I still rewatch it regularly. :) The books are also very well done and cover a good amount of the time and story between the expansions, helping to build the richness of the world. The cinematics for the expansions are all so amazingly well done. I definitely suggest checking out the one for Wrath of the Lich King as well as the others for Battle for Azeroth. They're all so good. Yes, you can totally play either Horde or Alliance and it very much is subjective as to who is the good side and who is the bad. They both, and all the races that are available to play on each side, have detailed backgrounds and history. I admit, I tend toward Alliance, particularly Night Elf Resto Druids, but I do play other classes, races, and sometimes even swap to Horde! If you ever decide to check out the game, let me know!

To answer your question in regards to cost, for these high production cinematics you can be looking at upwards of $500k per min. Blizzard spares no expense when it comes to expansion trailer releases. Also, react to all of the expansions plus to base game. You won't be disappointed!

For price context, these cinematics are on par with that of BLUR studios and they charge clients around $1 million USD for about 1 minute of footage considering thiese are done in house i'd imagine they cost around mid to high 6 figures to animate, voice, details, storyboard etc etc

Aaaaah, Luke is doing more cinematics? As a mainly Horde player, that does put a smile on my face. My personal favorite of these WoW cinematics it does have to be "Warbringers:Jaina" or how people call it "Beware of the Daughter of the Sea." though. Better yet, the official WoW channel in KZread has a playlist of roughly 40 videos with all the cinematic trailers from the start of the game. You just have to manually go in reverse order of what the playlist has since they have added the new ones at the top of the playlist. . . . Then you of course have some Final Fantasy ones you could check out. Magic:The Gathering has a couple as well. . . . . You could also react to some OSTs from Fire Emblem or Octopath Traveler as well. Unicorn Overlord, Triangle Strategy and maybe even Wargroove for some OSTs? There are quite a lot out there.

WoW's go back all the way to 2004 for the first and they're still super impressive for the time WoW has some shorts too with like warlords and warbringers that are a different style and sort of show various characters story more than the big impressive cinematics can, some of them seriously give chills

For what it's worth, you're not the only one who enjoyed the Warcraft movie! I played World of Warcraft (and Warcraft II and III prior to that) and thought the film was great fun (with great visual effects, too). It doesn't exactly follow the way the story happened in the game lore, but I didn't mind that too much. Perhaps I might have thought differently if I'd ever played Warcraft: Orcs & Humans (the first game, which the film very loosely adapts), but I'm perfectly happy to accept that it's simply set in a different continuity, the same way you can have fifteen thousand different versions of the Spider-man origin story.
