This is Angelina’s own composition. The lyrics show her optimism and positive message to not give up even when things look bad and your dreams are fading. Musically, it’s Angelina leaning back on that jazz in her bones to give us an old school feel. Her vocals are so strong here, and her riffing near the end of the song is done so naturally. That baseline and strong beat from the stand-up bass is very reminiscent of a famous 50’s song-Fever, by Peggy Lee. It’s so reminiscent that I’m sure it’s not accidental. Angelina has listened to every important jazz singer of the past hundred years, and I think this is a conscious homage to Peggy Lee’s great rendition of Fever. Beautiful message, infectious beat, confident vocals.

She can do anything she wants to in any song she sings but always in favour of not her vocal skills, that are off the charts, but the Song itself. She doesn't simply sing a song to you. This is Angelina's original song she did shortly after signing with Republic Records (Division of Universal Music Group, UMG) who pretty much control everything besides Sony and Warner. UMG is owned by French Company Vivendi. We are fairly certain that Angelina had her hands all over this video and the song lyrics written by her offer up hope, and to never give up on your dreams. Republic is a sub of Universal which is one of the big 3, with Warner and Sony, that reps most of the universe. the fact that we Angels continue to see AJ meeting artists at HQ and events, including the Grammys where she me the CEO of Universal, denotes that they take her very seriously.

It is her original and it is about keeping hope and not giving up on your dreams no matter what people say and no matter what life throws at you. The bass gives the song a heartbeat and her voice gives it a soul. It is quite impossible to sit still listening to this song :-D The bass reminded me of the bass in Lovecats by The Cure. I think you might like it!

Angelina is phenomenal! It's her own song. I will give you another group to react to. The TNT BOYS!! Three young boys that came from lack with extraordinary talent similar to Angelina. The started very young and are teenagers now. You can start with their early years til puberty which is what they are going through now. You will be amazed at their talent and 3 part harmony for children their age. They too have a very large following, They won a 15 week competition called "Your voice sounds familiar" where they had to emulate different group's voice and mannerisms with only one week to learn each week and they were phenomenal. Being a 30-year vocal music teacher, I can truly appreciate young Talent like Angelina and the TNT boys. Please make a point of checking out the TNT boys, and by the way, please react to Angelina singing "I keep holding out" for you when she was 10 years old." I really enjoy your reactions the way you really enjoy and feel the music.

this is an Angelina original ..!! Her lyrics on this are dope. Hmmmm .. I've never used the word "dope" before. It's good in this particular song to hear it knowing it's her words/thoughts. Hi Andy, wanted to catch up with you on Tee's livestream but I had to go. I saw you comment regarding Back to Black, think you mentioned is was only done at Proysenfestivalen live but there are actually a couple live concert performance...maybe I misread your comment. The "waitress" is Sydney Dalessi who herself is an actress and singer and also has some songs featured on the Spotify Streaming services. Sydney is 5.7 feet tall so Angelina has to be 6 feet Minimum i guess if you see both together in the kitchen

This is an old form of jazz that was called 'Swing' that went back to the 30's & 40's. Big bands would play at large venues like The Roseland Ballroom, where young people would go to dance and listen. When the orchestra took a break, a few musicians would remain to accompany a female soloist who sang songs like this.

Great reaction! I am SOOO glad you "got" the story line! Some reactors don't get it, or at least don't comment on it. Bringing hope, love, and encouragement to others is what Angelina is all about!

I always thought she wrote this as a message to herself after not getting through to the final 5 on Americas got Talent the Champions and the huge controversy that caused.

This is an AJ original, one of her early originals is "Shield" written for her family for protecting her while she lived her dream (12yr old) another one I Oslo her town growing up, Million Miles was a tribute to her Grandpa and later this summer we are going to get many more we hope when she drops her first Republic records Albem

Song reminds many of "Hit the Road Jack", that driving beat is very similar. If you've not heard it, it's a Ray Charles hit. This song followed "Million Miles" and is maybe a counterpoint to that deep sadness ... both offer hope in the end though.
