Tool, Pneuma, I swear down it sounds like a spiritual awakening. i listened to it in multiple states of mind, take that as you will, and the song hits different for me. Even if its not your favourite song, guilty, its damn good stuff.

Check out Vicarious (but avoid the music videos!) from the same album. It's another high energy track with some very interesting lyrics.

Definitely check out Pneuma next, and then the drum cam version of that song too. I believe that should be prioritized! The whole Fear Inoculum album from 2019 is very drum focused and a great album if you have the vibe. (Pneuma is from that album.) I would also suggest Schism for some great drums and Parabol/Parabola and Lateralus for some great spiritual stuff!

Herd for TOOL! Greatest band ever. They don't have a single bad song.

Anyone else find themselves themselves ‘return-smiling’ him? I subscribed just cuz of the energy!!! ….I clicked b/c, Tool, of course 😁. Enjoy the discovery of an entirely different genre’!! Early 90s was more rock-ish, but they have evolved into a space where spacial geometry meets music…..if you ‘get’ it, it’ll surly move you.

Enjoy! You are not making a mistake by diving down the tool rabbit hole. I have hade the pleasure of being a tool fan for almost 30 years now. I started listening when Undertow was released. tool has an ability to open up inner senses unrecognized by many. The tool army will have lots of great suggestions. I recommend finishing a reaction to 10 000 Days then starting from the beginning, getting the progression of the band and to stay organized.

TOOL ARMY 🪖 Since 1992.... Represent. This is a journey stay in order as much as possible and stay away from the videos until you have a good grip on the message of the songs. Subbed you, great reactions. This is about the hypocrisy of the government, the legal system and know it all people that know absolutely nothing. The meaning is a quad introspection of society as a whole. Relevant today as when it was recorded almost 22 years ago and they are on tour now!! I'm glad you're liking Tool man! They cover a lot of topics but I really like how they talk about the human condition. If I could recommend a couple other of my favorites from 10,000 days besides this one, they would be Vicarious and Right in Two. I think you might like those. Enjoy!

I would recommend to react to the drum cam live version after listening the Pneuma album version first. The live version doesn't have the best sound quality (it's good though) so you wouldn't enjoy the actual song that much. You can watch the live drum cam version afterwards to see what's actually going on behind the drums.

Those drums in the intro r similar to Djembe tones, Danny has a huge ensemble of eastern & traditional sounds to compliment his kit. He is a God tier percussionist/drummer.

This song is about hypocrisy and how some people point their finger to blame others while they are themselves guilty. The Pot is a reference to the saying "the pot calling the kettle black.". Yes, African drums in the beginning. Called djembe or tabla, I believe. Thing is, Danny Carey is playing electronic pads that trigger those sounds as opposed to having actual African drums in his kit. I think. I could be completely insane, of course.

Lot’s of people have already mentioned this: just gonna reiterate… tool is awesome. Until you’re more comfortable with them, you should avoid the official music videos. They’re largely unrelated to the music, and are designed to unsettle the audience. Interesting, but unsettling. Best to learn to swim without floaties before diving into the deep end lol
