First Time Hearing TesseracT! Vocal ANALYSIS of Dan Tompkins and "Legion" leaves me stunned.

Ойындар

I constantly want to see where the evolution of music, especially metal and rock these days, is heading and I think I found it in this analysis of "Legion". So much so, that I chose this video as my Birthday release. Dan Tompkins absolutely slays it in this track, and it's such a great first impression of what TesseracT is doing, I want to hear SO MUCH MORE!
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to TesseracT for the first time, performing "Legion”.

It is impossible to pick a song to start someone out on, equally impossible to choose an album. There are very few artist you can say that about. Good rule of thumb in my 30yrs of experience is none of them. One note, a single reverb trail, and i know who im listening to immediately. I also don't know of a single band in all of the history of rock and metal that only ever got better with every album. The entirety of modern metal would not be what it currently is without meshuggah, and then tesseract. And just like the metalcore days, we're all gonna come out of these days with only a couple legendary acts in our pockets.

I think there are a lot more songs from TesseracT worth checking out, like Tourniquet, War of Being, Juno, and Eden. He appeared on a song from the band Earthside called "A Dream In Static", which has some of my favorite vocals ever. I think you'd thoroughly enjoy it!! He also did vocals on a song on their album that just came out, which is also great. He also worked on a project in 2014 called Skyharbor. My favorite band and vocalist on the planet. So excited that you've been introduced to them! I think you'd love one of their new tracks, War of Being. It's a 10 minute masterpiece and Daniel's full vocal range is fully on display.

The "pish" sound you mention is a China cymbal on (I think) dotted quarter notes. Jay Postones is the drummer and he's superb along with the entire rest of the band. Thank you for reacting to this; it's a favourite and their whole catalogue is a marvel of modern metal (Try "Hexes" live in the studio for a comparison and a bonus vocalist!)

😍😍 YES! So good to see you analysing Dan Tompkins! My favourite singer, he really stepped up (and out of the box) on their latest album. He sings 80s synthpop too, with his other band Zeta, and more atmospheric music in his project White Moth Black Butterfly. Gorgeous voice. He sings on live stream quite a bit too when not on tour. 🥰
