This event was in 2015, when she was 37 years old. So Hyang is a 45 year old devout Christian and gospel singer from South Korea. In her early 20's and newly married, she was diagnosed with early stage uterine cancer, which left her unable to have children. Upon receiving a healing from God, So Hyang's goal has been to use her voice to bring comfort to people who are experiencing difficult times. She is not motivated by either money or fame. She has rejected numerous offers from major record labels. She does not own any social media platforms and she is happy others share her music on KZread, Vimeo, etc. In addition to being a published author of several fiction books, So Hyang lectures about song and vocal technique at a South Korean university. This humble, amazing woman can sing any genre of music, including rock and rap music.

We all wonder if Sohyang is human or from another planet. Current odds are that she’s from another planet, with an outside chance she’s actually an angel come down from Heaven. 😇 We have never heard anyone sing like her, or be able to hold an audience in the palm of her hand until she lets them go. Her voice is, as one person described it, like liquid gold. Perfection in clarity and pitch, and she doesn’t fade in the upper octaves, which is startling when you hear her hit those 5th and 6th octave notes with such _POWER_ it actually gives everyone goose bumps-and makes us bald guys’ hair stand on end! As she says, her voice “is from God.” She does all the musical arrangements herself, with the input of her in-law family and musical assistants, teaches vocal technique at a South Korean university and speaks five languages: Korean, English, French, Vietnamese and Chinese, as well as reading Greek! She is a cancer survivor from uterine cancer at the age of 20, just after getting married, and states very plainly that God saved her life due to the prayers of her church. But this left her without the ability to have children so she decided to dedicate her life to being a Contemporary Christian Gospel singer and has refused recording contracts from the biggest corporations in the world. She only wants to sing for charities, churches and while doing missionary work, to strengthen those suffering through difficult times. David Foster, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton and others have all eagerly worked with her when they were in Asia. She contracted hepatitis B from a blood transfusion during her cancer surgery and it clings to her to this day. Sohyang only recently made a channel, there are not many songs on it yet. It's called 소향 Sohyang official She recently uploaded a cover of Adel's "Easy on me" which I love. Sohyang can sing any genre but she is a gospel singer so most of the songs on her channel are gospel.

She uploads to channel her recently released albums and songs little by little, but most of her well known performances are owned by broadcasters. There are many tv shows that competition among the famous singers in korea. She' became well known since appearing on those shows. She is simply the best of the best, an otherworldly singer. So Hyang (pronounced closer to So Young) is truly a vocal monster with MANY of the greatest live performances in the history of music. Her version of 'I Have Nothing' from the DMC Festival, her in a dark blue dress, would have Whitney in awe. So Hyang sings in English and Korean, both with such advanced technique it boggles the mind. Any genre seems to be her domain. She has forgone a life of seeking fame for a life of comforting people with her voice. She has turned down large recording offers due to her faith. I am not religious but this woman is as close to an angel that has ever graced any stage. Hope you enjoy more of her as I see others have given you titles below.

She is a Amazing Artist , especially live, with God given Gift, Perfect Pitch, Lungs of steel and Thousands of hours training her voice! I honestly feel she's the best female vocalist I've ever heard in my life, and maybe not just female, she might well be the best all round vocalist I've ever heard, she's unbelievable, hope one day she does a few shows here in the uk

Kim, So-hyang (김소향) is a South Korean singer. Her stage name is Sohyang (소향). She's up there with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Céline Dion, according to David Foster, who worked with all of them, plus other big names in the music industry, such as Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, and Michael Jackson. In fact, many vocal coaches and critics call her the Queen, and Dimash the King. Here are several links to excellent performances by Sohyang. Many are from competitions where she pulls out all the stops and goes into vocal beast mode. The last 5 are more restrained. They were all amazed. He invited her to sing on his tour in Asia. She did 8 shows in 4 days in Tokyo. Foster co-wrote that song. He arranged and produced it for Whitney for her album, and her performance in "The Bodyguard". Foster has won 16 Grammy Awards, including 3 for Producer of the Year, and has been nominated a total of 47 times.
