Savage Garden is a Australian band really popular in the late 90's. Over here they were always chart topping with so many of their songs. Darren Hayes has amazingly unique vocals and alot of emotion when he sings.

This whole album is a 90s vibe, so many good songs

Agreed. Great time if they rode the 90s wave from early grunge to pop explosion with boy bands, Brittany, etc. Masters at writing/producing amazing pop tracks that are truly timeless. Daniels voice is amazing that another who tries to cover plates. Loved that Anton has embraced this band.

They have only two albums as a band (sadly) but Darren Hayes has released a few solo albums as well. I envy you for just getting to know them. I still remember the feeling when I heard their songs for the first time. Their albums got me through my high school years. The songs have stood the test of time, in my opinion.

Somebody has already mentioned, "truly madly deeply". But you should really listen to it. It is marvelous! Thanks for this reaction! I love this band. This brings me so many memories.

This is a masterpiece. Both their albums are. I want you has a Roxette kinda vibe to it. These guys were massive back in the day 👌👌👌

You have to listen to their song "I want you". You will fall in love with this song immediately

I really loved watching your reaction to this song. Darren Hayes has one of the most unique voices and is a favorite singer of mine. Their music in the 90s was just amazing. Very underrated band. They were my favorite, back in the day, Darren’s voice is amazing. They didn’t last long but what they did put out was really good.

I’ve watched this reaction so many times and I can never get enough of it. Darren has the most beautiful voice. Especially live, I was listening to him singing away to himself on Instagram live this morning. He is just a beautiful soul with the ability to give you all the feels with his music and lyrics

Just last week I took my 2 Savage Garden CD's to my car and I've loved listening to it again. If you like pop and good melodies, this has to be part of everyone's playlists. I promise, there is isn't a bad song on either of their 2 albums! You can react to every song and be blown away.

Savage Garden was huge in the 90’s. Darren Hayes has such beautiful voice and what made him so special was not only his voice but the lyrics he wrote, every song told a story.

I have been listening to this song since childhood, twenty years have passed, and it does not bother me.

The lyrics, I'm blessed to have savage garden growing up. But even I didn't understand the intensity of the lyrics as a kid but I knew they were special. Bought the album straightaway. Music I'm accustomed with, which is epic. Understated band so thank u for covering. Also welcome to this world, lol.

A lot of people mention 'Truly Madly Deeply' or 'I Knew I Loved You' when talking about Savage Garden, but their song 'Crash and Burn' is my favorite. This one is a close second. EDIT: Also, Darren Hayes has a voice like silk.

I love Savage Garden...my wedding first dance song was "I knew I loved you" by Savage Garden. "I want you" was a really fun song by them. Loved their sound and his voice!

Listen Savage Garden - Crash and Burn

Oh my gosh - I watch a lot of reactors, quite frankly because I enjoy watching someone reflect back to me my own love of particular songs. You however, philosophise about the songs in a way that I hadn't necessarily thought about. Your thoughts on this were great - your take of the different ears was also intelligent and intuitive. Great reaction.

One of my favourite songs back in the days and yes, Darren Hayes had such a sensual unique voice. You should react to their song "Insatiable"..also one of my favourites.

I highly recommend Crash and Burn, I Want You, and Chained to You. But every track on both albums are so good. And Darren's first solo record, Spin, is really great as well.

This is a perfect pop song. Savage Garden ended around the new Millenium. The guitarist/songwriter Daniel Jones hated being a pop star and he walked away from the band at their height. Singer Darren Hayes has continued a solo career ever since.

The 90s and 80s were an awesome time for music.

They may have only made 2 albums, but it's a catalogue of nothing but great songs! "Gunning Down Romance", "Affirmation", "Mine", and "Two Beds and a Coffee Machine" are just a few of my favorites.

Really really love the first two Savage Garden albums (Savage Gardens and Affirmations). Darren Hayes' voice is awesome, I love some of his solo stuff as well, like "Insatiable". They weren't underrated at all, they split so Darren didn't make it as big as when they were Savage Garden.

Darren Hayes has the most awesome voice and the most beautiful lips 😄 Love their songs! "Animal song" and "The lover after me" are my favorites. But their two albuns are amazing.

PLEASE do more Savage Garden! Even though they only put out two studio records, almost every song was amazing. Darren (the singer) went on to have a pretty successful solo career. Anyways, more Savage Garden please!! You'll love them even more. 🥰💜

A bit late, but I have loved this song since it came out. As a teenager I sat in my car after work with the song on, along with Matchbox, Pearl Jam, and others, and cried myself out before going home so my family wouldn't know how messed up I was. It really is powerful. To your point about the difference between now and then I would say that in the 90s we had lost what we had been told was our grounding purpose in opposing Russia and we felt adrift. The music was looking inward and seeing all of the darkness and struggle, but there was always a feeling of hope, of almost grabbing the light that we could just see out of the corner of our eyes, themes of struggle, but a recognition that everyone was there, and that we could sit and hang with our friends for an hour, skateboarding, talking, whatever it was, and not mention our struggles, but draw strength from knowing everyone was there with similar feelings. Today, with social media and the shift from in person to online interaction we have never been so isolated. The music today isn't searching, it's nihilistic. It thinks that it has found the truth, that there is nothing to seek and that self-centered hedonism is the only enlightened path. Strangely, I feel Taylor Swift is the perfect example of that transition. Her early stuff was hopeful, narrative and bright. About love and relationships and coming together. Slowly her themes changed to temporary happiness, self-focus and wealth. It's really depressing to go back to her first album and realize that she has become everything the villains in those songs represented. Sorry for the novel, but I broody right now and watching people experience these songs for the first time always buoys me up.

First time I heard this song on the radio when I was 13yo and I fell in love with this song and Darren's unique and calm voice right away.
