That is why Rob Reiner (a famous director) was there. At the time of the video Reba was doing some acting.

Thanks, I thought that was Rob Reiner! My wife and I saw Reba sing this with Linda in concert a couple of times and it never fails to hit hard.

This video came out after “Thunder Rolls” by Garth Brooks had been banned on TNN/CMT country music videos. His original video showed the man hit his wife and showed the wife killing him, but had to cut those scenes from his video if he wanted it to be aired on the country music video channels.

I can't believe I've never seen this video before.

It's been a while since I heard this story, but I seem to recall that originally they just wanted the boat to explode and that be the end of it, like it really happened. But then it was decided that that was too dark, so they added the ending where it was all like a movie.

Not sure if it was said or not. Background. Label asked Reba any songs you would like to do. She said does he love you. They wanted another person from the label to sing with her, and she said she wanted Linda Davis (one of her back up singers). They went back and forth and Reba said I’ll tell you what, Linda’s here, let her sing it and tell me what you think. They did, and as you can see, Reba knew what she was talking about.
