i think eventually there will be (talent wise) no one can replace the man himself, and when we do see an equal talent wise, dimebags name will be written all over him because 10000% dimebag would be the reason of their success as a guitarist. Imagine a kid on the shitter right now rockin a pantera shirt just ripping away on his guitar, no real training, just playing with passion and instinct, who knows lol

Me and some friends hung out with them after a show at the Whiskey in Hollywood, I think it was 89 or 90. Cool fun times, great guys, humble and sweet.

Agreed! Saw them at The Stone and Warfield in SF. The lady who used to cut my hair for 20 years was Sunny of Sunny Productions. She brought them to Sacramento the first time. We had dinner with them the night before their show. Vinnie taught the bartender to make Black Tooth Grins. Fun evening at the Mansion Inn right behind the War Memorial Auditorium.

Nothing touches this IMO for raw expression and energy on stage, always blows me away Phil's and Dimebag's expression and movement in this video, it is just instinctual and raw. It is also why nothing can touch Pantera IMO, the chemistry of Phil and Dimebag, the way they seem to be able to feed off of one another you do not find often in music, and all the little natural fills you can hear in this music, Phil grunting in certain spots, Dimebag with the whammy bar.

Three things, to fully understand. How Dimebag Darrell, developed his style. 1. He played guitar, everyday. He took that guitar with him. Where ever he went. That passion and drive, took him above other amazing guitarist. 2. He played live, which definitely. With his brother, made the band skyrocket. 3. He was a very humble individual. Taking time, to greet his fans. Those amazing notes, being played. There are called squeals, freaking amazing.

Never seen any live performance more often … that means hundreds! And I still don’t get sick of it! My big request on your pantera journey is my fav song. Even if it’s not a „hit“: the art of shredding live 1990! It tells all about their underestimated talent: in- and outside … you will get it if you’re watching 😝

Seen them at Ozzfest 2000, they stayed as the band to play for The Ozzman himself, while he had a broken leg! Cali energy baby!

One of the best live bands. Heavier live. Great with the crowd. So much energy. I had no voice and a lot of pulled muscles after their shows in the mosh pit
