Swagger and Baker not only got exposed for the hidden Misdeeds and their sins behinds close doors. they became poster boys for Hypocrisy in the church. Jim & Tammy Fay Baker, Oral Roberts, Benny Hinn all capitalized on what is called Prosperity Gospel. A fake Doctrine that is plague with corruption in the church, greed, hypocrisy, sex scandals, and etc. it hurt real Christianity pretty badly due to the fact their blatant mis-use of funds and so on. Miracle man was one of many songs that came out in the late 80's and early 90's that threw cheap shots at those guys.

Shocked this is still up. No Rest For The Wicked is my favorite Ozzy album. By the way, the main reason Ozzy wanted to strike back at Jimmy Swaggert was because they accused him of the devil worship stuff and the "Suicide Solution" song lawsuit and all that. Also, the hypocrisy, but that was the source of the anger.

But as I got older, I broadened my listening to blues and county too. For a country music dis video, check out the song 'Kiss My Boots' by Brian Kelley. He was 1/2 of the group Florida Georgia Line. Speculation is the song is directed toward the other half of FGL, Tyler Hubbard.

Great reaction!! I distinctly remember when this came out, and the whole televangelist 'scandals' of the time (money embezzlement, prostitution, etc.)! Jimmy Swaggart (and others) were on a crusade to vilify Ozzy (and metal music in general - see the PMRC hearings for more on that) on the sin and evil they were projecting on our youth! Oh, how the mighty fell. What's the adage 'let ye without sin cast the first stone'? These guys had absolutely no business disparaging Ozzy given the 'sinful' lives they were leading! I'm by no means saying Ozzy is a saint (let's face it, the guy has lead a life less than holy), but I don't recall him putting others down, nor stealing, nor fraud, etc... Those evangelists needed to practice what they preached! Great song - and great introduction to Zakk Wylde on guitar. That guy could shred! Cheers.

I'm sure you know "Ode to Tipper" by Warrant (ok not a song so much as a collage of profanity). "Startin' up a Posse" by Anthrax "Goodbye Freedom, Hello Mom" by Scatterbrain "Mother" by Danzig "Freedom" by Alice Cooper "Hook in Mouth" by Megadeth "Parental Guidance" by Judas Priest And I'm sure there were more.

The latter half of my teen years were spent in the belt buckle of the Bible belt. East Texas. I hated all the hypocrisy in the church and especially all the TV evangelists. Sick. It kept me pretty much out of the church until my late thirties. Then I matured to the point where I finally understood I shouldn't judge the whole church based on the actions of some people. However, since about 2013 or 2014 I once again stopped attending church. This time it was because way too many were preaching politics and the people in the church were buying into it. That's when. I said, "enough is enough." I don't see ever going back unless I find a church where everyone isn't going crazy for that. I went to church for spiritual guidance, not to hear politics. That's what cable news is for.

I get the religion' thing, Catholic school till my high school days then became public. My only interest was Zakk, and the "who the heck is this" aspect. More so on some other tracks. But that thick-sounding, crazy low-string harmonics, cool solos (more so on other tracks.) But Miracle Man is a wild riff to play even. Pick up that acoustic in the back and just feel out the riff, cool riff.
