See this was a time when people would have break dance battles and nobody fought and shot each other etc🎉
This brings back so many memories. The song is a classic breakdancing jam but is not the song(s) they were dancing to. The 1st set of scenes is from the movie "Beat Street", the remaining are from "Breakin". The guy with the hat is known as Shabba Doo and the hispanic dude in the dark Burgundy jacket is PopNTaco, 2 legends that we lost fairly recently. The dude wit the broom is Boogaloo Shrimp who actually taught Michael Jackson some of his dancing techniques.

It was two different movies shown here. The first one was Beat Street and the second one was Breakin'.
All these YOUNG RAPPERS need to be watchin'! They need to PUT MORE RESPECK on the names of the OGs!!! They need to know true Hip Hop history. These KIDS were AMAZING! And these are the ones in the movies. The kids on the street were even more amazing!!!😎
The Beat street theme track is one of the finest old school you’ll hear !
Idk how at almost 55 I still remember the words...what a great frickin time to be alive. We had such a blast, roller skating, or just jamming & dancing. This music changed everything. 🕊️♥️🎶

One of my faves! Hope you enjoy it. 😊
Yes!!! My youth right there.
Jam juh-juh-juh-juh-jam on it! This was and still is a banger!
The 2 movie featured in this video are "Breaking" and Breaking 2 and "Beat street" 80's classics
Electric bugaloo make us wish we could dance scenes from 2 different movies
Hi Tim! The clips in this video are from two separate classic Hip-Hop culture films: the first, "Beat Street", and the other "Breakin' ". But the song Jam On It, if I remember correctly, was not featured on the Beat Street soundtrack, but was featured on the Breakin' soundtrack.
I was 14 when this came out. What a vibe!!!! A great roller skating song as well back in the day..... memories of the 80's. What a great experience as well, still have compositions. Thanks I needed that one .....
Best 80s music, still great today. Introduced this to my kids 18 & 19, they loved it. Who wouldn't love CHILLY B. THIS SONG IS GREAT!!!
To this day I listen to this song when I want to get to movin’! Good that you see some of the pioneers do it up!
OMG. So many wonderful memories. "Aint no stopping us....no stopping"!! B-Boys and Girls...I see y'all in these comments!!! Thank you for this reaction...
The first time I did a windmill was to this track.Big up to The Kappa Krew ! (My crew).❤
Come on! Yassss!! So many memories in the backyard with cardboard box break dancing 💃🏽; wearing neon colors w/spike wrist bands… good times when the block use to watch the guys spin on there heads and pop lock.. and waking down the street w/ a beat box… 📻fun times!!! Thanks for sharing
This was most likely the first rap song I ever heard, back in highschool. And those dancers are crazy skilled. Another great reaction!
Omg I love this I was in school and that time was so great. That "JEMONE " takes me back. Those battles ❤❤
I actually just found you two, thanks for giving music in the 80s the attention it still deserves. So many of my childhood memories are locked up in these songs, when we all just wanted to break dance.
Skating rink memories!!! Still my jam! 💙
Nothing better than this type of music, I'm so thankful I gre up in the 80's
Beat street was a time when we had fun I love watching the break dancers

Ahhhhhh, Newcleus. This has to be one of my very favorite songs from the 80s, a decade jam-packed (see what I did there?) with rocking songs. Everyone loved this back then, and it's great to see the younger crowd appreciating it now. I will NEVER get tired of this song!
That was a movie called Breakin’. A classic breakdancing film. There’s also a pt. 2. Turbo was my favorite. This is what the gangsters use to do when they had funk with each other back in the day. Lol

This is Beat Street!!! Then it turns into Breakin. Two classics!!
Classics!! I remember watching Electric Boogaloo & Gremlins in DTLA. Went home & there was a surprise party waiting for me. It was my 9th bday. One of my best childhood memories. “Jam on It” never gets old.
The first part is "THE ROXY BATTLE" from the movie BEAT STREET which is East Coast of the USA in New York City, New York and it's more of the floor stuff in BBoy..... The BBoys in blue are the ROCK STEADY CREW and the BBoys in red are the NEW YORK CITY BREAKERS..... The second part is "THE BROOM DANCE / RADIOTRON BATTLE Scene 1" is from the movie BREAKIN' which is WEST COAST of the USA in Los Angeles, California and it's more of the Poplocking of Bboy..... Both is a CLASSIC in the HIP-HOP CULTURE..... In the movie BEAT STREET, the last dancer who took off his shoes is BBoy CRAZY LEGS..... In the movie BREAKIN' the BBoy who is in the red jacket is BBoy POP N' TACO (RIP), the Bboy wearing the hat is SHABADOO (RIP), the short guy is Bboy BOOGALOO SHRIMP and the other black guy is BBoy Popin' Pete..... Rapper and Actor ICE T was in BREAKIN' as well as the sequal BREAKIN' 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO..... When BBoy started this was how it used to be then in the late 90s it all change with more acrobatic stuff and made it less of what the OLD SCHOOLERS have been doing cause you don't see much of the WINDMILL, BACKSPIN, HEADSPIN, and all the stuff that you saw in BEAT STREET..... The POPPIN' / POPLOCKIN' is still there with added more street dancing to BBOY.....
An all time favorite...that beat never gets old 🔥
So yes like someone said “Turbo” the dude with the broom 🧹taught Michael Jackson how to Moonwalk and Michael just took it up a notch! They way these brothers was dancing back in the day 🔥🔥🔥I would loveee to see a #BreakinChallenge and I bet I will still be waiting LOL😂😂😂

@@a.r.3922 It was called the backslide in the 1950s. Jackie Wilson who influenced MJ was doing it. I'm not saying Jeffery didn't show MJ the moonwalk but so did Bobby Brown. Why would Bobby and Ralph lie about it in separate interviews?
I still have the original 12" extended records of this EPIC jam, holding on to them.
The scene near the end with the broom,.. 🎶💗 Kraftwerk - Tour de france💗🎶
The first half of thevideo is to the movie Beat Street! The second part is Turbo from the movie Breakin dancing with the broom. Then dancing with him in the black Fedora is Shabba Doo. He was an original Pop Locker from the 70s!! People used to battle with Breakdancing and not guns! This song is still HOT in 2022!!
One of my most favorite songs ever!! Loooove this song!! Also loved the movies Breakin, Beat Street and Electric Boogaloo!! This is where it all started!! Best times ever!!!
Loved this song! Skating rink days!!! He needs to do The Double Dutch

When I say this has been one of my favorite songs for thirty-eight years and counting, BELIEVE it. This always make me want to pop, and that's it, 'cause I gave up breaking a LONG time ago. 😆 This video is not the *official* video - this was fan-made, using scenes from the movies "Beat Street" and "Breakin'" - both are worth at least one viewing. RIP Shabba Doo and Pop N Taco.
I love this movie also also dude at the end is who taught Michael Jackson the moonwalk Michael's even said so. That Is a black history factThe movie is Breakin And breakin 2electric buggaloo

Breaker's Revenge was the original track that went with the first video here, the Roxy Battle from Beat Street.
They got dudes out their in their 50s can still do that. They was doing it then, they can still do it now.
Loved this song since I was a little kid. Yes the video is from a movie. It's called Breakin' actually I'd like to see a reaction to that film. Or at least some clips from it and it's sequel.
Breakin'. Love this movie💯
Hi Tim! If you like this classic breakdancing jam, you should also love "I'm Ready" by Kano (1980). You may also enjoy: "One for the Treble" by Davy DMX (1984). "Play At Your Own Risk" by Planet Patrol (1983). "Hip-Hop Be-Bop (Don't Stop)" by Man Parrish (1982). "Looking For the Perfect Beat" by Afrika Bambaataa & the Soul Sonic Force (1986). "E.T.'s Boogie" by Extra T (1982). "Numbers" by Kraftwerk (1981). Anyone of your subscribers who were around in those days will also know and agree that these were all Hip-Hop/Breakdancing classics. :)

Aaah great memories! I used to dance to that in my favourite disco in Germany in the 80s. We had US soldiers there and it was a funky place. Breakdance was totally hip that time.
🤣🤣 you finally went there. The birthplace of rap. Breakdancing was new then. I could never do it. But my brother could. I think that's where he lost his hair, in that head spin. 🤣🤣

This video is a cut and shut job, consisting of the Roxy Battle from the film Beat Street and of course, Newcleus. The original track that goes with the breaking battle is Arthur Baker's Breaker's Revenge which is an absolute banger. The breakers were the famous Rock Steady Crew, and the New York City Breakers (their tags were changed for the movie of course). Fun fact - Mr Wave, the popper, surprisingly turned up a few years ago here in the UK on an advertisement for the Halifax Building Society. Another fun fact is that Crazy Legs, in the blue who goes last, did the back spins in the film Flashdance. He had to dress in women's clothes and put on a wig so that he would look like the film's star, Irene Cara! The second film is Breakdance the Movie as it was called here in the UK, or Breakin' in the US. the best track in that film was Ice T and Chris 'The Glove' Taylor's Reckless, which you should give a try.
I saw Beat Street in the Devon Movie theatre back in 1984 when I was 14 in Philly. All us kids were dancing in our seats & the aisles. Great times for sure! Nice review
I'm so glad you did this song!!! Back in the day when break dancing was the thing
The classic electro house track, I play this video regularly because it reminds me of parties I went to back in the day, break dancers and all.
I miss the 80s 😔 where did the time go. It was the best.....
I used to breakdance super hard on this jam when was just a little kid like 8 or 9 years old!
Miss those days when beef was settled with a pop off. More entertaining than fighting.
I requested this song so looooong ago. ‘Bout time.
FUCK YEAH THEY “ finna dance”!!!
Good to see young people vibing on music that I grew up on, twin brothers doing their thing 👌
The movie was "Breakin" that was a scene from the movie you should watch it it's really good that that old school "Break Dancing " they was doing you should check out the movie"Beat Street" and "Crush Groove" with Ll Cool J, Fat Boys and Run D MC and Russell Simmons music producer and Brother of Run thats a great movie and please react to " Sheila E "A Glamorous Life" singer and female drummer no one like her before her Karen Carpenter. The first battle was from the movie ‘Beat Street.’ The second battle was from the movie ‘Breakin’ Beat Street was set on the East Coast and featured East Coast style B-Boying and Breakin’ was set on the West Coast and featured West Coast style pop locking and breaking.
Mannn this was MAGICAL back when it came out. So glad I grew up in that musical era
I love your reaction, lol!!! This was all a big thing when I was in high school. Gives me chills. Middle School was Hacky Sacks. High school 1984-1988. Best, BEST music. Breakdancing was a BIG thing. If you couldn’t do it, you watched, then you waited to to hear these songs at the rollerskating rink, when everyone would rush out to the floor. I’d LOVE to see your reaction to Marky Mark😂! Check it out. If you haven’t seen him, you’ll get a surprise!
When this song came out, I was a freshman in high school breakdancing is a form of competition and sometimes like battle against each other and they were trying to get rid of fighting, so break dancing was introduced!
True hip hop. Yes, the footage in the video is from a movie called "Beat Street," which explored the hip hop breakdancing scene in the 80s.
Ha!! I was in a breakdance crew. We tore this song up!! 😂😂😂

This was from the movie, "Beat Street".
I remember coming out of the theatre after watching the movie "Breakin" and the parking lot was full of break dancers doing their thing.
Mannnn this song and the movie brings back so many great childhood memories
I bought a 45 of "rappers delight" in 1983. I think it was. We did not have enough bass in our 1980s system. Changes were made.
So many memories!!!
The facial expressions had me crackin up! But yep this is what was done! Now where's my leg warmers and Bobby socks with the ankle ruffles with heel's 😂😂😂🥴 and my poka dot mini skirt 😳😲😂😂😂 🤣😂😂 and roller skates slung over the shoulder with the glitter
80s was the era of breakdancing jam on it was one of the many breakdancing hits young kids used to breakdance back in the day even my brothers
This is an iconic break dancing song from the 80's. It fun to hear it again. This scene is from an 80's movie called "Beat Street".
♥️this! Still remember most of the words🔉🔉🔉
The first movie is Beat Street the second is Breakin’ both classics! Beat Street was more street though Breakin’ was more Hollywood but still a classic.
Crazy Legs was the GOAT. He was the only one who had multiple turns in that battle
What's up Twinsthenew Trend!!! Rip to my friend the iconic street dancer , the originator, Chicago‘a own, The Pride Of the Windy City , Adolfo "Shabba-Doo" Quiñones. God Bless his luving fam. Shabba-Doo used to live in my neighborhood and went to the same Elementary School called Talcott N also went to the same High school as well called Wells Academy N he also went to the same Union League Boys And Girls Club #2. Twinsthenew Trend, yed u definetly need to get the Breakin Soundtrack. Great music by Ollie & Jerry, Ice-T & Carol Lynn Townes. I'm also friends with him, Turbo N Bruno Pop N Taco Falcon On FB Nation. Rip to Bruno Pop N Taco Falcon!!! Rip Shabba-Doo!!!
The video is based on the 1984'' Classic movie Beat Street And the The movie Breakin both Represents The B Boy Breakin Era!!! This isn't the video for the song nor was this song in the movie Beat Street, But Jam On It was Brand new And Fresh at that time And it was 1 out of many Breakin Classics that everybody was Poppin Lockin And Breakin too way back In 1983'' 84''.🎶🔥🔥🔥😎
Just some background to the video. The bboy battle in the first portions of the video is from the movie "Beat Street" (1984). The crew in the blue was called the 'Rock Steady Crew", the one in red was "The New York City Breakers". Back then, they were considered the two best bboy/breakdance crews and they were legit. So in order of who went into the cypher, here are their names: 1st - Powerful Pexter (Red) 2nd - Baby Love (blue) 3rd - Mr. Wave (Red) 4th - Devious Doze (blue) 5th - Robert Taylor Jr. (Red) 6th - "Prince" Ken Swift (blue) - Many consider him the greatest bboy of them all 7th - Chino Lopez (Red) 8th - Buck 4(Blue) 9th - Devious Doze (blue) 10th - Flip Rock (Red) 11th - Crazy Legs (Blue) 12th - Lil Lep (Red) 13th - Crazy Legs (Blue) 14th - Kid Nice (Red) 15th - Kuriaki (Blue) - My opinion, had the best windmills ever 16th - Matthew "Glidemaster" Caban (Red) Last one - Crazy Legs (Blue)
I believe that's from the movie Breakin' cause I recognise the two guys at the end from Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo.
great time👍
lol Damn I use to have this cassette tap back in the day called Electric Breakdance. Had no idea Rae Dawn Chong was in this video.
