Yeah this was the jam in the Chicago night clubs like "Heroes" and frat parties in college. Remember the other song with the same sample that came out at the same time 'Yo Yo Get Funky". This other song was part of the Chicago house music scene.

These guys, Furious Five & Grandmaster Flash with their songs like "The Message" & "White Lines" and The Sugarhill Gang before then with their famous track "Rappers Delight" all paved the way for all rappers that came out after.

Compare this rap to today’s mumble rap, you will know the lyrics faster than the mumble rap guaranteed! It’s a Blessing to see two young brothers enjoying and reacting the same my generation did we first heard this jam.

True about the James Brown sample, he was sampled so much around this time by so many artists but I think these guys used it first. First I remember anyway.

When I was in the Navy in 2003, we were at a club called “The Reactor” in Perth, Australia. They played this song & the floor was vibrating from everyone dancing, crazy, love this song.

All the good vibes and love, nobody getting capped or swearing their heads off. One love.

Was dancing in the clubs in the late 80s to this. Should take a listen to the Sugarhill Gang - "Rappers Delight". Basically the first rap group in late 70s to really make it big.

Every 40+ year old knows all the lyrics to this song. Classic.

I love this song, it still rockin today and I’m 54. One of my favorite songs

This song is from August 1988 Still rocking....👍💯💯

There's a LOT of old-school Hip-Hop songs that have stood the test of time quite well!
