Justin Hayward, the lead singer, was only 19 when he wrote this. I’m 70 and have been listening to them from the beginning. This is one of my all time favorite songs❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

I grew up on the Moody Blues ❤❤❤ They are considered one of the first progressive rock bands. Justin Haywards voice touches your soul! I did get to see them back in the 80's Great band!

When exploring their catalog, to say it's a rabbit hole is short, it's more of an anthill. The album (Days of Future Past) that this song is the next to last cut, is an experience. Their flute player and Drummer have both passed in the last few years., and they've now been going for 70 years.

The best combination, IMHO, is rock& classical-orchestra music. Moody blues are not the only ones: ELO; Proco Haram (specifically Conquistador); Emerson, Lake & Palmer; early Genesis etc.

Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge have passed away since the documentary video was released. But Justin and John are still performing though not as the Moody Blues anymore. A great legendary band

Justin wrote the song in 1 day. The title and the mood supposedly comes from his girl frind breaking up with him and gifting him with s set of white satin sheets. It is the final song from their album Days Of Future Past. They used a Metatron which gave the notes of an orchestral feel. But lightning was about to strike. The production company had hired and payed for an orchestra for a different project that fell through. Someone there came up with an idea. With the sound of The Moody Blues why not use the orchestra all ready paid for they took a risk to incorporate them on the album. History was made. His voice in this concert is only richer and more mature. But is basicity as much as it was so long ago. But the original full album is so much more. And really a must listen all in a single sitting. Yes it is a slight bit slow starting coming to a climax with Nights. But it is the story of the full day or is it of an entire life?
