The lead singer, Justin Hayward, wrote this when he was 19 years old. This was released in 1967. This concert was in 2000. I’m 70 years old, and I love how KZread is bringing different generations together over music❤️

The song was written about a girl he saw many times from a distance until Justin finally got the courage to meet her. She became his lover and his wife to this day. It's a love story

I feel so sorry for the generations of young people who followed us Boomers. We knew great music without “auto-tune”, whatever that even means. We were blessed to have true musicians, talented singers, songwriters, true artists. They went into their record labels studios, recorded their masterpieces and went home. The 60s and 70s truly were the Golden Age of music. I have to say I miss it.

This is what my generation means when we say I miss real music. You understand...

People went to concerts to hear the music, not to yell and jump around, ignoring the performers. There were also many great poets among the songwriters. They could beautifully express profound feelings and realizations

You notice the audience allows the singers to actually sing; they’re not rudely screeching over the performers. So thankful I’m a Boomer 😅😅😅

For your generation, you are one of the smartest person I have seen. You recognize real music when you hear it. Congrats

Adults know how to respect performers, something GenZ knows nothing about. They dont even respect themselves.

I do so appreciate your comments. Audiences behaved back then. Lyrics made sense. Performers actually performed. Thank you for your comments. Bless you! I grew up in that era. Much different then. ❤

When this album came out. Critics said that it was 15 years ahead of it's time. 55 years later and it's still ahead of it's time. I've seen them live twice. ✌️

"This is real music." Great observation and comment. I'm so glad I grew up listening to real music in the 60's and 70's.

Justin Hayward wrote this song just after he was dumped by the woman he thought was the love of his life. It is filled with both longing and heartache. The arrangement was brilliant and magical. Thanks for sharing your reaction.

Back in the day audiences respected the singer.

Message from a 59 year old who just came across your channel with this video. You're right. This is pure. Real instruments. Real voices (no autotune). This song was released when I was 2. Trust me, this is a song that will fill and heal your soul for the rest of your life.

And that's how progressive rock was born. Best song from the first concept album.

I love watching the reaction that young people have to the music from the 70"s. The Moody Blues is one of the greatest all time groups. Yes, this is definitely real and pure music !!

This is a near-perfect example of how not all young ppl are vapid and stupid. Well done, young man.
