Matt has a fairly big following in Europe, he did a tour there last year. Soooo many great songs to check out, I would recommend “Trick of the Light”, “Song for Interlude” (both live), Made of Stone (Live at Studio 301), Better Than That and Mainies (live at The Fonda), his cover of Lonely Boy (live for Like a Version) and Miracle Love (live at Manchester Cathedral) to name but a few. He’s an absolute musical genius and we are so lucky and blessed to be able to call him one of our own 😁🙏🏻🇦🇺

i'm glad you enjoyed my request, your reaction was wonderful, i believe matt wrote the song about when he was 17 and slept with a friend's girlfriend, if you would like to try another one from him i suggest trick of the light (live on the resolution tour) where he does an array of vocal techniques, a truly brave and talented performer, there are many other aussies to try i will recommend some more that will get a lot of views for you, keep up the great start to your channel

I’m sure it’s been mentioned but this is a song about sleeping with his best friends girlfriend, it is said that the singing at the start represents a native bird in Australia that makes that call in the morning, when he woke up after doing the deed it’s one of the first sounds he heard

Not sure why Michaelangelo's David statue would not be appropriate for children. It is one of the most famous statues in history. Art like this should never be censored. That being said, Matt Corby produces art of the finest quality too.

The desperation in this song is like a hit to the gut and heart. Matt is an amazing artist. Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham , Wolfmother, Baby Animals, Midnight Oils , Mitch Tambo, Guy Sebastian, Divynils, Delta Goodram…. The list goes on and one. The rabbit hole is deep ( pack snakes and hydration).

Just commented on another video of yours reacting to Matt, so hoping this comment will also make sense: notice in this one he’s not referring to himself. In the song for interlude he is. He is VERY intentional with his lyrics. Maybe one of the most intentional lyricists of this day. Also please excuse my while I answer any questions you may have on your other reaction videos haha.

What happens with our Australian bands and musicians.... is that they DON'T usually blow up out of Oz..... because our artists don't accept commercial bullshit.... and management that tells them what songs they can sing or write.......and the rest of the world is all about commercialism...... Aussies have the reputation of saying 'fuck off'... to those people..... thank the universe now for the internet and KZread......

context to the song is Matt slept with his best friends girlfriend, he came home and he had to hide under the covers. Song is about him. He didn't really deal with it so he put it in this song, the friend didn't know until much later.

Yea he's singing a cover, but of his own song. I actually quite hate the original version of Brother now ,as it's so inferior to this one.
