Thia dude has dreamy eyes, seen them melt every girl at every show i went to hahaha and i think he was around 17yrs old when made the last round or something of Australian Idol. They wanted him to sign and be main stream. He stepped awy from music and worked as a barista for years.. Before re-emerging with his Secret Garden tour around Australia, just turning up to parties at a ranbom member of the public and playing his set acoustically in front or back yard of their home 😉

Totally agree, and his voice is crazy. But backed up so well by the guitar.

i loved the commentary you did on the lyrics around the 10 min mark. not many people have gotten into any lyrical analysis about this song when reacting. there is a slight extended version of this "like a version" video where the radio hosts speak to him beforehand. he says that the song is written due to a falling out with his best mate, after he (matt) made a grave mistake and ruined the friendship. this song is him taking accountability for his actions - and he's singing it in third person regarding his own actions. the raw emotion is because of the guilt he feels for what he did. funny you should mention biblical as matt was a part of "hillsong" and their music team in his teens and later went on to criticise the church. loved you reaction and the deeper analysis which many havent gone into.

Really enjoyed this! The performance took my breath away when I first saw it so I totally got the ‘too much’ part. I actually cried lol, but anyway also loved that little monologue in the middle about holding ourselves accountable because I can fully relate to that. Spent so many years relying on others to save me when only I could save myself, it was a real wake up call. Work in progress but am really amazed at how much clearer my mind is after doing some of that work on myself and accepting that my problems are mine alone. Anyway, if you like stripped down performances that take you on a bit of a rollercoaster, try Shakey Graves - Roll The Bones (Audiotree Live), I don’t think anything will top the emotional intensity of Matt Corby’s brother but that other one I recommended is also pretty special to me in many other ways, I think you’d enjoy it and would love to see a reaction!

The song is apparently about a dark moment in his life where he slept with best friends girlfriend and his guilt about the situation. There’s a version of this like a version video with a short interview before it which explains a lot more.

"It came from a little sort of quarrel I had with a really close friend this year. It's a pretty dark time for me, I think I really just wasn't being myself. Me and one of my really good mates fell out, and it was because of something really stupid I did."

Have seen Mr Corby a few times live. Special.

The emotion in this song comes from the fact that it is about him sleeping with his best mate's girlfriend.

Yeah Matt Corby!!! Great Aussie Singer, his other song "Resolution" is great too :). 2:09 So true, acoustic performances are the rawest and most vulnerable, singers are at and it can connect on a much deeper level. Commented in your Teddy Swims video to check out _"Rain - A Colors Show"_ by The Teskey Brothers, also an Aussie Band but video just features the lead singer, Josh Teskey.
