Marvins 'What Going On' albulm is ranked #1 of all-time by Rolling Stones Magazine. It started out as a responce to police brutality but ended up being an anthem for the anti-war movement. Todays artists are 100 complicit with wars. There are no artist today like Marvin & Eartha who stood up to the establishment

In my opion the greatest singer of all time. That was his voice in the background and doing the high notes plus he played about five differnt instruments plus wrote a lot of his seventies albums. There is a book out called "After the dance" by Jan Gaye his second wife and you should read it because Janis is who he is singing about and she was seventeen about the time the song was written and he was about 33 years of age and married to the bosses Berry gordy older sister Anna gordy. The book is on amazon kindle and a great read!!😊

Mr. Marvin Gaye was such a great great singer and talented musician! I was so shocked that day when I heard that his father murdered him! Marvin is one of the 50 greatest musician that i have ever heard! He is in the discussion with Prince, Michael, Stevie, Aretha, Luther, Patti, Glydis etc etc....

I think he does such a great job on this song cause Marvin always wanted to be a crooner like Frank Sinatra or the others of that ilk... I think any producer that wants to make an R&B record today should listen to this and reconsider whether they have what it takes to do the job...Marvin and his production team set 'dat bar high...

Marvin did so many great songs with the legendary beautiful Tammi Terrell who died at only 25 from brain cancer. I wish she had told marvin about the physical abuse she got from David Ruffin of The Temptations. I always wonder if the beatings was related to brain cancer. Love you Tammi & Marvin
