Jeffrey Osborne is the lead on this song. Saw him in an intimate concert this past Sunday and he still.sounds the same and he's in his 70s now. Underrated singer IMO cause he has one of the most unique and great voices of our time. Gotta do more of him guys, with the group and solo

YES YES YES! I’m a 70’s, EARLY 70’s baby so when I hear songs like this I go back to some of the best days of my childhood. My much younger cuzn made it her wedding song bcuz I recommended it. Everybody went crazy when they heard it. That’s what Love Ballad does to people!😉

This is my favorite recorded vocal of all time and it was done in ONE take! So glad you two have discovered this.

Saw LTD in contact with The Jacksons in 1979 or 80. My husband and I also danced to this at our wedding.

Always had an old soul and I use to BUMP this heavy when I was a young 20 something back in the 2000's "What we have is much more than they could seeeeeeeeee" 😃🎶🎶🎶

This was the joint back in the day. I had the album, then when it was remastered to cassettes, same. Then to CD and Livestream. But it's nothing like having this joint on vinyl, putting the needle on the record and watching it spin around on the turntable.

LTD, Love-Togetherness-and Devotion. Love Ballad is one of the greatest love songs to come out of R&B music.

The groups then were usually bands so most of them played instruments as well as vocals but they usually had a lead singer. The lead singer for LTD was Jeffrey Osborne and he played drums and also had a great career as a solo artist and songwriter.

Fun Fact: My mom knew one of their bodyguards so when they came to NC she got to go to their concert (VIP)...She got to meet them and brought home a picture signed by each member along with their album also signed by each member. Jeffrey Osbourne (unsure of spelling lol) was lead singer and later went solo...On The Wings of Love is one of his songs. It's a great song.

Now that you’ve heard LTD, I can’t help but remind you to react to Strawberry Letter 23 by the Brothers Johnson - a fabulous duo of brothers who were making hits around the same time as LTD. Strawberry Letter 23 didn’t quite make sense if you knew the lyrics, but it was something about “Thunder Thumbs” Louis Johnson and his brother “Lightning Licks” George, that made that song a banger back in the day. It still hits different when I hear it today.

There’s a KZread soul train video of this song and the last minute is on loop like 4 minutes… I ain’t mad!

That wasn't the Stylistics it's the album cover from the group LTD. Many times I held that album in my hand and read it the credits. BTW, the LTD stands for Love, Togetherness and Devotion

When I was a lil boy I was introduced to them through my uncle. I was so tiny and I would sit on the bed and watch my uncle get dressed listening to the band on the weekend

My older sister had this album so I was listening to this as a child and was hooked right away. I lost my sister to cancer two years ago and this song brings a hint of sadness but mostly love and happiness. She loved Jeffrey Osborne and this song brings something more to my heart.
