You summarized KZ perfectly: what artist out there can rap like some of the best AND then sings a ballad w/ so much emotion? She is INSANE and “one of a kind.” In regards to this performance, let’s not gloss over that KZ just sang in Chinese (Mandarin dialect). KZ as you’re well aware is Filipino. KZ does not speak Chinese! This is equivalent to you and I trying to memorize each Chinese character, then go on and sing it….LIVE….in front of a 200 million tv viewing audience! I’m Chinese and I am blown away by not only pronunciation but the powerful emotion she put into this performance. And did you know that she does not speak Mandarin but on limited couching and rehearsals she made them covers with Mandarin parts only to make her listeners who were mostly Mandarin speakers really appreciate what she was doing. Ang hearing from Mandarin authorities, she did even far better in pronunciations than common Mandarin speakers.

This is a Cccccccccccccccchinese song sung in Chinese, which she translated to English, then Tagaliog then Bisaya so she couykld get the FEEL of the emotions of the song. She onlyn had 1 week to practice it in flawless Mandarin.

I'm not sure if what I heard was true but the reason why KZ was so versatile was because she used to be a belter singer and something happened to her throat, I think, so she wasn't able to belt like she used to do and tried to find other genre that suits her voice but she thinks everytime that it is not the right one when she tried another genre until she mastered all the genre she tried😅😅. So no doubt why KZ was such a flexible singer.
