I've loved Kate from day one , We in the UK first saw her on Top of the pops singing Wuthering Heights , I was in high school ,and the day after that performance everyone in school was talking about it . Kate is the only ever female artist to write ,produce and perform a number 1 single , and has never being matched yet ,I love all her music .

Loved Kate Bush the second I heard her voice in Wuthering Heights.>3 She is definitely in a category of her own. Hope you do dig deeper into more of her songs. Other favorites are: "This Woman's Work" , "The Sensual World", "Hounds of Love", & of course, Kate's duet with Peter Gabriel in "Don't Give Up".

She's one of my favorite singers, not so well known in the U.S. Her style takes a little getting used to, especially her earlier stuff which is a bit high-pitched. But her art is very unique and individual, it's worth submerging into, if you're open-minded.

Some context for you Kate Bush , was first writing music & songs by around the age of 11, with her brothers. One of whom , knew a friend of Dave Gilmore from Pink Floyd He met Kate when she was around 17 years old , and after hearing some of the 100 or so songs she had written by that time!!. He took her to a recording studio to professionally record some demo tracks. One of those tracks was Wuthering Heights , which she released as her very first single. It was the first song , written by a female artist to hit #1 on the UK charts. In 1978 Kate released two incredible albums The Kick Inside & Lionheart She then followed up in 1980 with her third album Never Forever ... this is where Kate's work really started to develop into her unique sound. Whilst her first two albums are classics & are both excellent. They were very much a more traditional sound (apart from Kate's voice of course!) With Never forever, Kate started to experiment with snyths and sequencers particularly a snyth called a Fairlight , which Peter Gabriel had been using alot. It enabled Kate's imaginaton to run wild! The next two albums The Dreaming & Hounds of Love , are brilliant examples of Kate's genius! She hears melody and atmospheres in such a unique way. Many fans were disappointed with The Dreaming, as they felt it was way too strange! But I adore that album.... She took another 4 years to make an album. But with 1989's The Sensual World. Kate showed a more personal & mature sound. For me it's her most complete album to date . Whilst its not as experimental as The Dreaming or Hounds of Love , it is a sublime and gorgeus record. Theres still some strange stuff in there too. But mostly its a very seductive record.... There's much more to say about Kate Bush ...but mostly , she is unique & extremely brilliant!

Kate Bush...enough said. The first time I heard her was when I was in college and bought "The Kick Inside", and was hooked. I always listen to her when I go hiking, especially "Sensual World", my favorite, OMG. Just turn off the lights, put on the headphones and listen to her. You won't be disappointed. "A Woman's World", is probably, the most rerecorded, but every song, every album is totally different. When she records an album, she wants you to feel different emotions and wants you to choose what you like. Sorry, this is long, but, Kate Bush is not easy to explain.
