This show was June 4th 1983 at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. I was 11 years old and wanted to go. It was an all day show with Journey headlining. My parents wouldn’t let me go. 😢 I wouldn’t go to my first concert until the following year. Steve Perry is the GOAT. 100,000 people packed into JFK to hear Journey live. There was no other band like them. So incredible.

I was almost 14 and it was my first concert. We were on the field fairly close to the stage. It was an amazing day.

Both those songs are incredible. The music of my youth.

The beauty is that Steve never over sings. And we all know how hard it is to maintain a great tone when you're singing so softly. Apparently this is one of Steve's favourite song.

I know that Journey is incredible live. I know that Steve Perry is probably better live than in the studio. That being said, the audio being played over this video is from the studio. That was, note for note, the album version of that song. Journey is known for their musical adlibbing, especially Steve. There was zero adlibbing in this audio track. It was most definitely the album track overlayed onto concert footage.

I would suggest Sweet and Simple by Journey, it's just a jaw dropper on his singing, it's unreal.

Only the young, wheel in the sky, loving touchin squeezin.

I always liked. Feeling That Way / Anytime.

The guitar solo is a beautiful solo.

Patiently is a great choice to react to. Also, there is a singer named Clay Aiken, who is a former contestant from American Idol. His voice is so soothing, and he can belt out any song, and his long notes are effortless, similar to Steve Perry.

Steve released an album in 2017 and he has signed with an album company to release new music and tour again . 2017 album was called “ Traces “ . ❤
