Drummer Phil Collins playing the piano and singing. This guy only became the singer of Genesis after the original singer Peter Gabriel left the band. Then the band tried other singers, and Phil Collins became the singer as an afterthought. How talented is this man? Crazy!

I remember watching this LIVE in the Pub. That's when I spent all day in the Pub watching LIVE AID on a large screen TV. It was amazing the whole pub singing along.. I so wish I could've afforded to go down to Wembley.. I was 20 years old Aarrrgghh!!

Phil Collins was with Genesis and basically played drum primarily and pereformed "back up" vocals. Peter Gabriel, the lead singer of Genesis, left the group and they needed a lead singer. Phil volunteered to sing lead...... the rest is history. For a period of time back in the day he was everywhere from movie soundtracks to Miami Vice and duets. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing him sing. This particular song was from the movie "Against All Odds" with Jeff Bridges and Rachel Ward. It's one of my favorite movies from that era. Take care...

As you spotted at the very beginning this was the Live Aid concert, & this was Phil's 2nd appearance in two separate continents! He'd already performed live at Wembley (London), then jumped on Concorde & flew to the USA to perform again at Philadelphia.

This was twice as crazy as he played a couple of songs during the UK part of the Live Aid concert, then rushed to the airplane to fly to U.S. and go on the Live Aid concert stage there as well...

More great live songs from his 2004 Farewell Tour Paris concert are Drums and "Take Me Home" as well as "Come with Me." The crowd reaction to "Take Me Home" is amazing!

Here is a suggestion. Phil was also the drummer and eventually also the singer for the group Genesis. There is a live video that's also the official video (i think) for the song Man On The Corner. 🔥🔥🔥

I've seen some reactions where viewers gave him a hard time about missing notes on the piano. He can and did play piano and keyboard, but he was first and foremost a drummer.

Check out Genesis LIVE. (Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel were members) The band is one of the best live. Both Peter and Phil are great rock vocalists. But Phil and his ballads are AMAZING! Emotion.

Changing genres, I'd like to see you listen to some Queensryche w/ Geoff Tate's iconic vocals. I suggest you start w/ Take Hold of the Flame (hard rock), but I already know you'll love Silent Lucidity (power ballad-ish). Both are quite impressive as well as quite different. Hope you like both songs.
