Just so in case you don’t know. This was a Latin American competition that took place for many years. That year was Jose Jose’s breakthrough. And even when his song was the favorite and (really) the best of that years competition, it didn’t win. But revenge is the sweetest thing. He became the biggest star after this. The judges are from different Latin-American countries. By doing this, Mexico would be in disadvantage because they would vote in blocks from South America for their own favorites and Central America would do the same. Again. Revenge is best. He became a huge star. No one remembers all the others he lost against. And you young folks are talking about him! Cheers.

I just read in another comment that Frank Sinatra gave him that nickname Wow.
The composer of this song wrote this on a plane on the way to his mom's funeral. He wrote the song to say that her absence took all joy from his world, but, loving and missing gave him a reason to keep on going. José José interpreted it perfectly. With every ounce of emotion needed.

Context: He was in the final of a Contest about latino songs, and that contest was very important in those years, in fact, the people in the crowd were very important actors and actresses and people in general. He won 2nd place, but from then on, he remains as one of the most important singers of mexican history. If you want to hear our generations great vocalist, you guys need to listen to Dimash. This was THE best performance of his entire career. He never performed that song the same after this. This moment marked his whole career. He is definitely by far a Mexican icon.

Sus interpretaciones siempre estuvieron llenas de aplausos y ovaciones de todo el género musical. Una leyenda del romanticismo.❤
It's the most romantic artist in history Jose Jose.
Cheers.
Hey! Bros! Les falta mucho camino musical de México por recorrer, este es El Principe de la canción, José José, espero reaccionen a más música mexicana 😊

José José didn't win that night, he was in 3rd position, but this night with this performance made him famous and millionaire. With open mouth were witness of how a new star was born.🎉 He died already but left so many good memories in our heart 💜.
