I've seen almost all the artists that you named! I don't know about them being Hip-hop soul because most of them did not Rap or have a lot of rappers in their songs!

@@princedejour2686 It wasn't really about just the idea of having a rapper on the song. Both groups I mentioned literally had a rapper within (Left Eye and Mr. Dalvin, respectively), while Mary and R. Kelly would occasionally rap themselves. It was mainly about the production styles in their songs. If you go and listen to all those artists I mentioned best works in the 90s along with others such as Aaliyah, Brandy, Total, Faith Evans, SWV, etc. they often sang over instrumentals with a hip hop influence and many of their remixes would have a popular rapper of the time. New Jack transitioned to hip hop soul, which then transitioned to neo soul in the mid to late 90s (Erykah Badu, D'Angelo, Bilal, Jill Scott, etc)...

Devante Swing with his production was a savage in the 90’s! Missy, Aaliyah, Ginuwine, and others learned something from him. I think he did a few songs for H Town as well. K-Ci had that aggressive church voice. Jojo had that falsetto quartet church voice. Jodeci are the Bad Boys of R&B in the 90’s!

Jo Jo doesn’t get enough props for his silky smooth vocals. K-Ci’s rough soulful vocals balance him out so well.

I saw three 🤤🤤🤤!!! Yep. You in trouble now with Jodeci, Ashley!!!!! Great group. Thugish life that progressed from New Edition to Boys II Men to Jodeci. The 80s and 90s were something else!!!! Glad I lived through them!!!!

Jodeci is one of the truly great R&B froups from the 90's! I had all of their CD's! Tgey were unique becaue heg dressed like some street dudes or rappers at first but their style improved in lator years!

This group was huge back in the 90s If I'm not mistaken. I know KC and JoJo. They're Brothers, but I believe the other two are brothers too.

This group JODECI are made up from 2 sets of brothers. K-Ci and JoJo are 1 set. Devante and Dalvin are the other set. 1 set live in Monroe NC and the other set Charlotte NC. K Ci and JoJo are cousins to Fantasia.

90’s R&B will do that girl, it can heat up a room you better watch out. K-Ci and JoJo can sing the hell out of a song. You could check out their albums. When Jodeci split up. K-Ci and JoJo put out albums.

Mrs Ashley you are definitely the epitome of what natural beauty should really look like. These young and older women should take notes. Doing too much with your looks with enhancement, instead of being naturally beautiful, will keep them single as usual and always. God Bless.

Great reaction! IMO, their best song. It was like the Forever My Lady sound transitioning into the Diary of a Mad Band sound and blended in together. How on earth was this song not a single? It should've been their first for this album. This was also IMO, K-Ci at his peak!

You may want some Silk Lose Control, Basic Black Special Kind of Fool, H Town Knockin The Boots, and Dee Harvey Leave Well Enough Alone.

Yeah the 90s was The LAST DECADE Of REAL R&B IMO. There have been a few here and there in the 2Ks but kinda rare IMO thanks to hip hop. No hate towards hip hop and it's history, impact and influence just an Acknowledgement of the paradigm shift. R Kelly and Keith Sweat began that modern R&B thug trend of the 80s and 90s with Keith Sweat WAY MORE SIMP than thug. 😂😅😂 Just KIR Keeping It Real you Keith Sweat fans. No hate towards Keith Sweat. And throw in Babyface while you at it in the SIMP category. Jodeci gets props for the "Thug" Trend in modern 80s and 90s R&B.

Jodeci didn't hit in the 80s... moreso like 1990/1991 while songing backup for Father MC. Also, 80s R&B wasn't really thugged out.....but, you're right, after they got their foot in the door, it was over. #uptownfunk

@coachemup8185 Keith Sweat and Teddy Riley started in the 80s. R Kelly and Public Announcement came along in the 90s on that same Teddy Riley New Jack Swing vibe. They all came along together 80s and 90s. Jodeci in the 90s was part of that late 80s Keith Sweat Teddy Riley Public Announcement R Kelly New Jack Swing vibe. I was including Jodeci along with that vibe which is why I specified 80s and 90s and not just straight 90s. It's all 80s and 90s R&B IMO.
