This song makes me think of my teenage years. Back then, I could put 5 in gas in, pick up my best friend and my little sister, and just ride the back/dirt roads for hours on end. I wish I had those days back. My friend moved off up north, and my sister passed away a few months ago. Those simple times were the good ol days, and I just didn't realize it.❤

My husband was raised the same, and we would drive all over using the backroads. we are high school sweethearts been together for 13y now with twin 6yo daughters and we still will just go drive around the back roads.

I was born and raised in Jackson, lived just North of Memphis for 25 yrs, just moved back to Jackson. I can take you to MULTIPLE dirt roads just 10 min from my house! You have to get OUT OF THE CITY to find them! The cities he named are all the big cities in the state that are along the interstate. You have to go to the small country towns or rural areas outside city limits. There are tons of places that still don't have electricity or indoor plumbing much less a paved road!

It was so peaceful and calming. My parents loved it too. They'd visit every 2 weeks and stay a couple weeks lol. But we're country folk to begin with so it was up our alley.

Colt Ford recorded the song first with Brantley on the chorus in 2008. The Brantley version featuring Colt came out in 2010. They share writing credit. You can’t say this song is one or the other because if you just do Colt’s part without Brantley’s, it’s shit. If you do do Brantley’s part without Colt’s, it’s shit. Both peoples contributions are needed for this song to work. That’s also why I like their versions better than Jason’s. This song was written by 2 people for 2 people to do. Jason’s version with Ludacris is far better than the Jason solo version.

This came on my Spotify the other day and I was explaining to my 13 year old how this sums up my teen years in MS so perfectly. Just drivin out to an empty field, lightin a bon fire, someone would get in a fight and one of em would leave, a girl would get too drunk and one of us would end up babysitting her 😂 The same county sheriff would show up and bust us bc there was a snitch in our school lmao Some of us would hop in our cars/trucks and run, some of us got busted but all she did was drive us home and tell our parents 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ Good times lol Also, yes we do like our weed 🤣 Which is part of the reason we like to live out in the boonies. Privacy 😉😏

😂😂 it was always my property we were all on! 🤣 Momma and Dad (bonus Dad) would just lock the gate and you knew once you were there you werent leaving unless they took you home or your momma and daddy come to get you. Lol! We'd build a big fire, had ice chests with food and drinks, tents, music and a damn good time lol! Someone ALWAYS had a fight, some chick always ended up crying.. and Dad would come out a few times to make sure we were all good (AND to let the kids know you never knew when he was showing up) we were all friends! GOOD friends. Everyone's parents knew where they were AND what they were doing because my folks told them. Hell, most of em stopped by at some point, so none of us got too crazy. And the sheriff's kid was usually with us 😂Sad that my kids can't experience anything, even remotely, similar to how I grew up! 😢

Keep up the great reactions ,love them! I am a retired teacher in New Zealand .My wife and I chose to teach in a school that was on the Road to aNowhere.Isolated ! Many of the roads were single lane and shingle and gravel with blind corners.I looked after the swimming pool lit the classroom fires and learned to get lambs out that were stuck. These parents worked hard and played harder.Best part was learning to use gelignite and running down wild goats. And drinking beer at the pub which was served by one of my pupils.

So cool to see y'all enjoying this cool one! Just goes to back up my belief is that pur blood and roots blacks/whites run deeper than any other two ethnicities on the planet We are all brothers and that we compete so hard against eachother on everything only reinforces this fact! Great reaction my brothers from different mothers!
