This album is called "Control" because it's Janet taking Control of her life. The song Control was about her taking Control of her career from her dad. Nasty is about her taking back respect from those who would belittle her as a woman. This song is about taking control of her body and not letting a man decide things for her.

This is a legendary Janet ballad. She sung this on her recent tour and the crowds repeated every word. You guys need to watch “Miss You Much” Extended Version.

Fun fact: Janet had 5 top 5 singles from the "Control" album. They each peaked at different numbers, 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5. "Let's Wait Awhile" was the #2 hit.

"Let's Wait A While" spoke to me as a teen in the middle to late 1980s. It's about not rushing into doing something you're not ready for. This was the decade when some of my schoolmates were dating each other.

An 80's R&B singer you guys haven't reacted to yet is Stacy Lattisaw. She had most of her success as a teenager in the early 80's. Her biggest hits were Love On A Two Way Street, Let Me Be Your Angel, and Miracles.

I remember this song from spring 1987. I was in 7th grade at the time. It was a very big deal at the time after "Papa Don't Preach" and "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off". I believe it hit number two on the Billboard pop chart. For a more upbeat Janet, I highly recommend "If" from 1993. A GREAT dance song!!

Jeez Jay, not everything can be about popping and locking. That wasn't all the 80s were about. In fact, ballads were a big thing back then. You even had some of the hardest rockers of the day putting out slow, beautiful ballads.

Janet's decision to make him wait was a bold move that added to the video's intrigue. On your movie channel, you should react to his movie "The Last Dragon" from 1985. It is considered a classic in the black community, and even the Disney animated film references it. Also, it has a Motown soundtrack.

Janet songs in the 90's were all hits. "Go deep" is a good one to listen to. And the song "All for you". When you get a chance listen to one of them, I think Rob will enjoy it.

This song was a hit back in the day. Every party has a period where the pace slows. Not every artist can do both great. Janet definitely CAN!

By the way, the young man playing Janet's boyfriend in the video is actor/martial artist, Taimak. He starred in one of the most iconic comedy movies of the 80s, "The Last Dragon" (1985), which is loads of fun. It also stars the former singer of Prince's all girl group, Vanity 6, Vanity (Denise Matthews, 1959 - 2016) who sung the classic jam, "Nasty Girl" (1982). Both a movie, and song worth reacting to on your respective channels.

Cmon Jay! This song is a classic from the first time I dropped the needle on it. Easily one of her best ballads!

Born in Jan of '78, Janet was one of my first crushes, I was introduced to her as Penny in Good Times. Now, let me say, the early Janet was extremely beautiful and the music was fun and sweet BUT when her self titled album, Janet, released in '93, well, I'll say that changed some things for me! Nonetheless, Janet is both an amazing vocalist and dancer, everything was always top-notch with her music and videos and I absolutely love the Scream video with her and Michael.
