Cube saw that Harry Yella was making sure that he and Eazy E was getting most of the money from the work that the group was putting in. Dr. Dre and Yella was producing. Ice Cube D.O.C. and Mc. Ren was doing the writing mainly Cube writing and Ice Cube peeped it and left. But even though Ice Cube left the group he didn't diss his friends/group mates they decided to diss him and No Vaseline was his reply to their action. Cube broke the whole group up and manager by himself with this song. CLASSIC

The fact is Easy E wasn't gay, he caught it from some scank, Easy got around, he wasn't on the DL, there's no secret or conspiracy. Ice Cube was inferring gay as an insult and also saying they were getting screwed over by there manager and Easy, nothing more. You know how sensitive men get when they're called gay and they're not. That's how he meant it.

He’s not only talking about how Heller was f**king them out of their money, but also equating them to buck broken slaves. So, this song has so many layers, and is so intelligently done. That’s why this is the most viscous diss track ever.

Even the start of the track if you listen it’s easy e that says “ice cube writes rhymes, that I say”. 😂 He realised that he could make more on his own for his own music rather than splitting his talent 4 or five ways.

Ice Cube was the main writer behind NWA's first album. When he didn't get the money that he worked for, he tried to hip Eazy and the rest of the group to the bad deal that they were signing but being young and naive, they ignore Cube and signed the deal anyway, which caused Cube to leave the group. When Cube's solo career took off, NWA got jealous and wrote a diss track, with subiminals, referring to Cube as Benidict Arnold (revolutionary war traitor). That's when Cube went and ripped their asses apart with this track.

The reason Eazy-E got it the worst is because Eazy-E had sold out the group to the manager whose name was Jerry. Ice cube saw what was happening from the beginning and tried to warn the whole crew but they turned on him so he ended up having to leave the crew and they came right after him after he did that. Dr Dre even called him a Benedict Arnold and had no idea that Eazy-E in the background was playing the whole crew but Ice Cube knew better and saw what was going on.

He was not going to diss NWA, but they dissed him in the 100 miles and running EP and the N 4 life album. This why he said I am glad y’all set it off. His diss was more from a point of love. Eazy was a drug dealer and the only one with any money, so he was essentially in NWA to fund the records in the beginning. He founded Ruthless Records with Jerry Heller. After they got big they started to realize they were being screwed since they weren’t seeing much money. Eazy refused to stop working with Jerry so Cube left the group because of the dispute over royalties. Dre left about a year after and founded Death Row with Suge, D.O.C., and Dick Griffey.

Ok what were all the best verses on that album? Every single one written by doc or ice cube.. the rest pretty is mediocre. Respect to the doc though

There wasn’t no homo stuff going on .. Jerry Heller ( and I’m some People’s opinion Easy too since he was the label owner ) , their producer and manager was a screwing the crew outta money on some bs contracts . Cube wouldn’t sign, so he left to do solo work . Cube blew …NWA made a couple diss tracks toward him on their next album , but since cube wrote a lot of their previous albums , you could really tell the difference w/o. Might have been some jealousy that he made it solo . Anyway ,Cube gave the NWA camp that work on his next album with No Vaseline ,as a result of all that
