The composition fit perfectly with the artist's voice and way of singing, not to mention the energy that only Grace transmits in her performances, her work is beautiful, she is incredible! Legend has it that the composer wrote this song with Grace in mind. She accepted. She then walked into the studio, asked to see the lyrics, asked to hear the track, then said she was ready. She recorded it in one take. In and out in about an hour. That's the story.

Fun reaction. Great observations. Keep in mind, this song was written for Wonder Park and was not written by Grace. This is part of the reason for the different vibe. Also, this version of the song uses the Ukulele as the primary instrument, while the version played in movie is done on guitar and is a bit slower and just slightly more melancholy. Speaking of movies, if you are not aware, Grace played the title character in both Disney+ Stargirl movies (and was the lead in the second movie). She also has a role in the upcoming Francis Ford Coppola film, Megalopolis. Grace will appear with Adam Driver, Shai LaBeouf, Aubrey Plaza, Laurence Fishburne, Jon Voight, Dustin Hoffman, Forest Whitaker and others.

@@Erfedwe From songwriter EMME in CelebSecrets (2/14/23): "EMME: “The most meaningful song I was a part of writing was Grace VanderWaal’s “Hideaway” that was featured in the Paramount animated movie Wonder Park. I wrote the song with some of my best friends and collaborators, Jonny Shorr, Will Jay, and Katie Stump. We wrote the song on a boat, while taking a break from a writing camp (how ironic). Jonny brought along a ukulele and we all started writing the song. It came together so quickly, I initially didn’t think much of it, but when we listened back to the demo, I realized how incredible the song was. And then it felt like everything sort of fell into place. Writing on ukulele made us think of Grace VanderWaal, and then Paramount needed a song for their new movie that fit the theme of our song. Great reaction guys! Grace is such a unique talent. Reading other's comments, I'm surprised to find she did not write the song. The lyrics struck me as something she could have written based upon songs early in her career. I'm putting in another request for you to listen to Post Modern Jukebox featuring Haley Reinhart singing Creep. The song has 115 million youtube views and really highlights her voice and amazing singing ability.

Grace would have been 15 when she sang this, know any 15 year olds this good? Great reaction. Nice, "Angelic Vocals." Her vocals are the only vocals that ever me tear up. It may have Taylor vibes because Grace didn't write it and if Taylor had this voice I would be a fan. I think this song was one of the best songs released in 2019 but since it never got any promotion very few people heard it, unless they saw the movie.

@@valleyem1 thanks, that was a miscalculation on my part when I checked the original video. (Official Audio) Looked again and she uploaded it Mar 19 so good chance she recorded it before her Birthday, 14.

Saw her the night she won AGT.She beat out a awesome singer by the name of Jackie Evancho.Grace has really improved since then.I thought Jackie was so much better.

Jackie was on AGT in 2010 , Grace was on AGT in 2016 , it's 2023 and none of that makes a difference today anyway.

I was truly amazed when I found Jackie in 2016 ( some years after she appeared at AGT) but then I found Grace while searching for Jackie videos. I then realized this isn't just someone who was gifted by God with a voice like Jackie was, this was pure talent and genius.

I love you guys so much and I would like to share this with you. And you can take it however you would like. The condemnation is this that everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But this is the gospel which means the good news. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. And the only way to be saved is to believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. Believe that he died and was raised on the third day by God the father. Ask him to receive the holy Spirit. Repent from your sins (which means turn away). And be baptized in the name of the father son and the Holy Spirit.
