Brandon, interesting. Seeing as I went to her concert last year with Lindsey Stirling and she sounded powerful in person. Her vocals a definitely more refined as she has aged, but I still hear the power.

Brian Rouleau, she wasn’t lip syncing when I went to her concert last year. But expect all singers do it at times when their voices are strained. They do have to give their vocal chords a break or risk damaging their voice. 😊

Brian Rouleau I’m from Little Rock, our high schools were rivals. I literally know this band. I’ve seen her live four times. Once two years ago during “Synthesis.” She’s always pitchy in her rock shows. Is she perfect, no. But she’s an amazing performer. Can you imagine trying to do that ever couple nights? I’m not being a bitch, I swear, but when she’s standing still/playing piano, it’s obvious she doesn’t use auto tune.

Classically trained vocalists in metal: Evanescence, Nightwish, Within Temptation.....all fantastic!

@Jorge Escudero I saw someone asked her that in an interview which she recalls she didn't take vocal lessons but, movement lessons to be comfortable on stage she used to be in one spot with her eyes closed all the time and before Fallen tour started she took only 3 lessons with a guy to fully learn how to move on stage without thinking so much and having fun which she learned phenomenally bc she has such a high stamina on live concerts moving and twirling around all over the stage she's in. The only vocals lesson she took was in the Choir class back when she was in highschool. She has developed a better breathing technique over time tho, but that's bc of the experience she has gotten with the years in touring. Usually the first songs in her set are the hardest, then she does a piano rock ballad break, goes back to hard rock songs and then another break with piano and slow songs in order to keep her voice safe and finish her set with the classics like Bring me to Life. Over time she has mastered how to do the perfect setlist and give an amazing concert experience to the crowd.

From interviews Amy Lee has said Going Under was about an abusive relationship she was in around the time the song was written (most of the Fallen album were demos her and Moody had recorded before taking them to record labels). In fact; Amy actually wanted Going Under to be their first single not Bring Me To Life. So, I kinda doubt Going Under is about their dealings with success after their rapid rise to stardom with the release of BMTL. The music video might be about that though.

I’m 28, a millennial and everyone my age knows these songs and where rocking to them as they where released. They are nostalgic to us now. She’s remarkable in so many ways. Voice of an angel and an ethereal beauty that seems almost otherworldly. She’s stunning in every way.

Watching you reacting to my favourite bands (evanescence, nightwish, jinjer, within temptation etc) your reactions are so pure I love it. So many people who aren’t that into metal/goth rock react in an almost disrespectful way but I love how much you love these!

Got goosebumps just from listening to the song in a reaction video to the original music video .... Damn ... that's how powerful the song is!

The standard and epitome of a woman's rock vocal can never be matched by her. In fact, of any singer out there.... She is incredible and pure rock star material. Sounds exactly the same live as on the track..... unmatched anywhere! Whoooooooo!

I literally grew up with it. My parents were playing the Fallen album in the car. I know absolutely every word to every song and it slowly made me a fan. I got more into metal (death metal and epic metal are my fav) now but I still come back to it from time to time.

Many that have not experienced the difficulties of LIFE won’t understand the brilliance of her music words the hit deep for any individual that has experienced a negative time of life and be inspired to do better for themselves.

Sweet Sacrifice, Everybody's Fool, Call me when you're sober. Those are some great songs by Evanescence (with music videos). I'd recommend Bring me to Life too, but there is no way in hell you haven't heard it before. By the way, thanks for reacting to this band, I have requested it before.

Sweet Sacrifice is more impressive live in my opinion!

This song simultaneously is like you absolutely want to give up and yet absolutely keep going and fighting whatever struggle you face! Amy is just too good and too iconic!

Been an Evanescence fan for 20 years and I'm watching this video 4 years late but I still get goosebumps when I hear this song.

There is a song by Evanescence called “Imperfection”. It’s on their latest album “Synthesis”. Now THAT song will give you goose bumps. Her voice only got stronger as she made more albums. If you liked Going Under you will love Imperfection.

Amy Lee’s voice is so powerful, yet smooth. It’s perfect for the style that Evanescence goes for. 🙏🏻 Edit: Also, you HAVE to react to their Bring Me to Life song. Doubt you haven’t heard it, it’s one of their greatest hits. Her voice is so angelic, and there is also great juxtaposition between that and the heavy instruments.

evanescence has been my all time favorite band for 16 years (since 2004) and i’m proud that, i was a child when i started listening to them because my dad played them constantly and i’m glad he did. one of the best hard rock groups ever.

Amy Lee has the beautiful voice and glorious confidence that every woman should have; she's beautiful inside and out!

Your reaction is so pure, it’s great. “Whisper” is a song I’d recommend to react to by them, and “Sweet Sacrifice.” I could list off many more, but those two are quite amazing.

I’d suggest “Bring me to Life”, which was kinda their big break, and “Tourniquet”, which is one of their very best.

Amy Lee has one of the most fantastic voices in music. There’s also the likes of Sharon Den Adel of Within Temptation, Floor Jansen of Nightwish and Lzzy Hale from Halestorm, but they’re all up there.

@@ChickenMccZoe They are, as well as My Immortal. They're all about Amy's little sister dying when she was young, and how she handled it. "My Immortal" is about her lingering grief from the loss. "Hello" is about how she reacted when she first found out. And "Like You" is about how she's sometimes wished she could join her sister.
