This is a cover of a Lionel Richie song not anything to do with Adele. Dimash doesn't sing this anymore on request from Lionel Richie probably because Dimash's version is outstanding. Thank goodness Dimash writes his own songs or has them written for him especially by Igor Krutoy. Dimash did covers of MJ and Queen, I am sure both MJ and Freddie Mercury would have adored Dimash and been only too pleased for him to cover their work, they were both true artists and generous spirits, they are both sorely missed. Completely agree about Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson, they would be working together and it would be incredible! Lara Fabian complemented his cover of Adagio, of course I think that they adore each other. I have noticed that Dimash hasn’t done Je Suis Malade, probably out of respect. Loved this song when it came out, but this is a whole other level ❤

This was 2018, the year after Dimash appeared on I am singer in China where he found world wide fame on you tube. He was invited that following year as a guest. Jesse Jay was on the comp 2018 and there is footage of her seeing Dimash sing this song. She is amazed.

Like in many other arrangements, Dimash melds sacred music traditions of different cultures and ages into something uniquely his own. In this piece, for example, you hear Turkic throat singing - the ancient song of the steppes - creating the foundation while Dimash’s melismas soar high above it. This style is pretty pervasive all over Asia; however, every region or country has its own unique take on it. The music of ancient cultures often used chants, overtone singing, and melismatic techniques to induce a hypnotic trance in the listener. Dimash is not only aware of the power of music to alter one’s state of consciousness, he wields this power masterfully but with great respect. The instrument is a traditional Qazaq flute called a sybyzgy. Also, for those who may not already know, he sings “I love you” in three different languages. First in English, then twice in Mandarin, “wo ai ni” and at the end, in Qazaq, “men seni suyemin.” What he whispers at the very end is “fei chang gan xie” which is thank you very much in Mandarin.

MJ has been a huge influence in his “style”. His English and his voice have improved immensely since this performance, so if he chose to do an updated version of the M.J. tribute, it would be mind blowing. Some of his dance moves are definitely inspired by Michael. Thank you for the reaction 👏👏

Those "chants" are really just scales that have quarter half tones that our western "ear palettes" are not used to hearing. Those smaller intervals between the notes are used in a lot of eastern countries in Asia and the Middle East.

I would have thought you would recognize that unless you are not familiar with the lyrics of Lionel Richie's song. It happens, but mis-identifying the song is a huge error.
