I am an alcoholic and that is my favorite line. I drink because I am lonesome and I am lonesome because I drink.
A long,gone, bitter truth.
chris just be the best vocalist of this generation possibly ever. he can sing his music differently each time and its the best version, he can sing covers of the biggest artists and deliver a better performance on that also
Guy is off planet!
The line 'I drink because I'm lonesome' is a heart wrenching line, but the one that follows it? Cuts to the bone. 'If I don't break down and bring it on myself? It'll hit out of the blue'. If you're going to feel like hell anyway? DIY.
He also does a cover of "its a man's world" that's worth watching!
This song spoke volumes to me. I'm not big into country music but Chris Stapleton is an exception.
I’m not a drinker but wow what a song. Everything Chris Stapleton does seems to resonate with me.❤️
16 years sober tomorrow. He sings stories of what it was like, what happened to make him change and what it's like now. It's what we tell others in recovery groups. If anyone struggling, there is help, you can do it, stop it, but not without help
Chills as always with him
Love the rawness of this song!! Add “What Are You Listening To” & “Either Way” to your list
I can really relate to this reminds me of when my wife died I tried to drink her memories i thought they were between nightmares and burdens I did not realize at the time the memories were tiny miracles that make me...me

I did the opposite when my husband died. I was so afraid where alcohol and emotions don't mix that if I even had one drink, I would break and never be able to stand again. I couldn't break because I had 5 children to raise.
This man has lived his songs
Hello sir, one of Chris Stapletons gems is called barely alive acoustic version. ITS BREATHTAKING!!!!!

@gk5891 yeah but some people might not know that, having just discovered this channel, and not his original channel.
This guy gets it. Subbed.
Such genius songwriting!
If you haven’t already, Either Way is a different kind of sad
One of my favorites!!!!
Yay, you're back!
Your ass needs to be on radio too, bro. 👍🏾👌🏾
That is my favorite Stapleton song, and I think the best performance of it. I think Tim McGraw recorded this song.

My favorite too. The Tim McGraw version is absolutely terrible - devoid of emotion, soul, and pain

@@crabkilla That’s too bad. The thing with Chris Stapleton is , he’s all emotion in everything he does.
Check out Aaron Lewis version of this as well 🤛🏼🙏🏼💯
I love Chris but I think Aaron Louis does this song better.

Sometimes Chris over does it. ( though he is LEGENDARY ) very similar to the Christina Aguilera effect. Over do it at times
I have followed your reactions and I'm always going to be truthful..you sometimes come off as a bit...snooty or above all I guess? I actually enjoyed this reaction.
