"Choose Me" -- a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" and the HBO Max series Peacemaker as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic. Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are, along with The Warning band, almost single-handedly bringing back the joy of rock. Here's a great live MV of "Choose Me" that's not quite as punchy do to the mix, but still good: kzread.info/dash/bejne/epely9abiMrPl7g.html Thx, Skeevy!

It's just a fun way to show respect. Quite frankly, the way some reactors start/stop/talk, and don't back up during a MISA/Kanami/Akane solo, peturbes me. It just the way they do it, and Skeevy was fine about it. Bit it's more than just a fan thing, imo. ;-)

@@TomClark-FutouraThe worst are the reactors who don’t stop at all, yet talk over the song. You can’t really hear them well, or the song. Or, if you can hear them clearly, you’re not hearing the song at all.

The Japanese language just has a lot more syllables than english, so it sounds much faster. It's a naturally staccato sounding language, so I can see the inclination towards the rap comparison, and it's not wrong exactly. I would say it's just more just tone of voice singing. If you want to hear her actually rap a little, the song Influencer has a bit in there, there is more of a specific flow to rap imo, and you'll see the difference.

This is one of their most commercial sounding - radio friendly songs. It always sounds incredible live. Saiki performed it solo at Yokohama Arena November last year, playing piano for the first time in front of audience / and pretty large crowd. I could see her hands shaking a bit from nervousness but she nailed it. They do acoustic version of some of their songs, too. I'm not sure if they are going to upload those videos with Saiki playing key.

Here’s my personal favorites for the lives. You won’t find much disagreement among fans, other than the order of popularity: 1) “Play” 2) “Domination” 3) “Real Existence” 4) “Don’t you tell ME” 5) “Puzzle” 6) “Onset” 7) “Moratorium” 8) “No god” 9) “Puzzle,” acoustic 10) “I can’t live without you” 11) “the non-fiction days,” Studio Coast version 12) “Cross” 13) “FATE” 14) “Clang!” 15) “Wonderland” 16) “Endless Story” 17) “About Us” 18) “Hate?” 19) “Manners/ Black Hole” If this seems like a long list of hits and playlist worthy jams? Just remember that the Maids did a three and a half hour concert with 33 songs and had to schedule a follow up show a month later to play the hits they didn’t have time for. No joke. Oops. I forgot “Freedom!” Stick that in the top five as well.

I am fine with your list. Mine is - of course - different but not very much. Shame on you that you forgot "Freedom" 🫣. The live performance of that song is a banger, so much fun. But, I am missing Corallium, MY favourite 😅 You can kick "Hate?" and replace it with "Corallium" if you want to stick with 20 songs 😂😂😂 Po 🕊️

Good idea to look at lyrics later, cause great music has its own heart and soul. Of course, lyrics enhances the song, but only the vocals have influence on the music itself. IMHO. Po.

Supposed to be Saiki's favorite song to sing. If you want to get frisky, look for the 2 different versions of this song from the 10th anniversary Yokohama Arena concert.
