Great song! Blood, Sweat & Tears is a jazz-rock music group founded in 1967. They are noted for their combination of brass & rock band instrumentation. Especially love their stuff when David Clayton-Thomas joined as their lead singer. They had a lot of great songs such as "Spinning Wheel", "And When I Die", "Hi-De-Ho", "God Bless The Child", "Lucretia MacEvil", "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know", "Go Down Gamblin'", "Lisa Listen To Me" etc.

Love your enthusiastic reactions, Shon the Shirtless Wonder. BST was hot in the 70's. One of the first R&B/rock bands in the late 60s and early 70s to feature a dedicated horn section, along with Tower of Power, another amazing group you should check out, and Chicago, of course before they wimped out in the late 70s and 80s. BST had so many great songs including a particular favorite of mine, Spinning Wheel, And When I Die, God Bless The Child, a masterful reworking of Billie Holliday's classic, as well as Hi-De-Ho and Lucretia McEvil. Please keep going down the rabbit hole of these epic horn bands, you won't regret it.

THIS! I have a list of songs to be played at my funeral kept with my Will; this song is the closer 😂; really. I grew up with my parents playing this album when I was a kid, loved this song and makes me think of them. Then when I had my son in 92, this song seemed to keep coming on when I was feeding him; odd! and of course he made me so very happy; so, it’s got a lot of emotional meaning for me ❤.

My dad loves these guys. I was a little little kid and he had a couple of their records and an awesome stereo system. They were excellent to jam to and had such a different sound and mood to their music.. Them and Chicago made some righteous tunes with those horn sections. BST was more soulful IMO. *Go Down Gamblin'* is my fav song. That horn you were talking bout is a muted brass sound. It's like a plug that fits into the end of a trumpet or trombone and makes that tight wah wah effect. Some players will hold it and alternate open and close for a toggle effect.

They covered other peoples' songs. Couple of my favorites are the Billie Holliday classic - God Bless the Child and Carole Kings' - Hi De Ho (Old Sweet Roll) This album, not their best, won the Grammy for Best Album. (It was good, but probably shouldn't have) Their 1st Child is the Father to Man, was their best. After those 2, the quality pretty much went down hill. Greatest Hits will do.
