The live version is definitely better than the studio and I'm saying that as a person who waited YEARS for the studio version Jimin wrote his own verse and he was so nervous to go out on stage but he absolutely killed it. He had always wanted to do a song with Yoongi so he was excited as well

can yall stop spreading misinformation for once🤦‍♀️?!! Jimin himself said he didn't write the lyrics for his verse in tony Montana because it was difficult. there's a clip where he explains that Yoongi asked him to do it but it was hard for him so Yoongi wrote it and Jimin took Yoongi's lyrics to Namjoon to be "revised".

You need to watch the live performance for this song it'll be so much better then the colored lyrics.

Yo, this song was different LIVE. It just banged harder, they both came to kill 💜

It was a song on Agust D’s mixtape and it featured a different artist. But then they changed up the lyrics for Jimin and Jimin performed it live on one of their Muster performances (Muster is one of their annual fan meetings where they perform songs and spend time with fans. They did a version of Ddaeng with the vocal line at one of their musters! (Can’t remember if you checked that one out yet but you DEFINITELY should if you haven’t yet 😊) And yes! They also have songs where some of the members are grouped together to do a song (like Jamais Vu is sung by Jin, Jhope, and Jungkook). There’s a word for this kind of grouping that I’m completing drawing a blank on. Still hoping you’ll react to Intro Persona, Shadow, Boy Meets Evil, The Last, and RM/AgustD duo Strange one day! This was meant for a live dynamic but the recording is great too. There is a live video of all 7 doing Daechwita you have to check out. It is from the online Sowoozo concert. Same concert all 7 did Chicken Noodle Soup as well. There is also a live of all seven doing Ddaeng. Tks for this one!

Yeah, SUGA's 2 mixtapes, he put them out under is alternate name AGUST D, which is DT SUGA backwards, with DT meaning Daegu Town (the name of the underground hip hop group he rapped with a bit before BTS, named after his hometown of Daegu followed by SUGA. He has said it is a persona that allows him to be more raw and direct. The original version of this song had a different featured artist than Jimin, but then they surprised everyone during one of the concerts when SUGA came out to perform this song and Jimin came out on his verse - he had said he wanted to rap and SUGA thought his voice would work well on this song and so he worked with Jimin ahead of the performance to prepare.

The live of this is absolutely amazing.

I actually love original version... It was on his first mixtape Agust D - Agust D with different artist then did this remix with Jimin for Army Birthday concert... There was only live version, and Suga finally give us audio version in their last album from last year Proof, and this is what you were listen to... So I really hope you listen to original... 😁 This song is fun in mixtape, bc it give break in playlist....

You have to watch the live performance to truly appreciate that song. Plus the live is so different!

For me, the excitement of BTS is performance, not lyric videos. Their music no matter how above mainstream K Pop it is still thrives like much of K Pop on a blend of the visual and the auditory. Listening while watching words on a screen and not seeing Jimin perform with Suga is fine but definitely sacrifices some of the track's energy. Unless you plan on watching the live performance, which was part of a BTS 3rd Muster, you will walk away with an incomplete perspective. FYI, the original Agust D mixtape track was a collaboration with Yankie not Jimin so this is one of several cases where BTS members loved Agust D works so much they brought them into BTS performances.

BTS louder than bombs

U should have watched the love version they did together, it's way way better than the studio version, more grit, more angst, more vocal prowess live, more emotions. It's really way different than this.

Definitely react to the live! We got this version pretty recently and I'm not used to it. I like the rawer live better. I'm not that fond the auto tune effects and "dance club" ending in this studio version. I just don't understand why they did this to it in production. I'm not saying it's bad like this but live is better.

The autotune in the studio version is so purposeful to the story of 'Agust D'. Similarly to the Shadow, Tony Montana represented a 'bad side' in the album. It comes right after The Last and represents Yoongi becoming obsessed with fame and money and becoming the 'monster' he mentions in The Last. The distortion is perfect for the story of the album.

I recommend the live version of this! This song really shines live!! Also, PLEASE react to Ddang behind the scenes and Ddang live ft vocal line!!! You will not regret it!!! Tbh, the live version is better because it's raw vocals with no added auto-tune. Whereas this version they just added a lot of auto-tune in post production.

There are many BTS duets, but I think you guys will like Suga-RM Strange and Suga-RM Respect.

The live is so much better! Pls do react to it! I believe there even is now a version that has eng subs added on screen. Studio version actually added total autotune to Jimin’s rap, which was so not necessary, totally distorts, giving him a higher uncalled for pitch. Plus even some of Jimin’s growls, raspy adlibs, using his lower registry are even edited out! Which I believe were some awesome parts, that hyped up the song that much more! Plus to dare add autotune to Jimin’s rock styled full bodied high note, equally so uncalled for, so not necessary! Just so wrong! If you see & hear the live you’ll see for yourself. Such a shame that they did this, when the live performance became so iconic, positively legendary! Also a heads up, that you might need to add a filter on screen, to be able to post the live version on YT.

this literally IS the studio version from proof album. studio means recorded not live. this isnt the live version they reacted to. before proof their was no studio version now their is one its just not released on streaming platforms officially that doesnt make this not a studio version.

They told you about the name AgustD In the introduction to BTS but I'll remind you. AgustD is Suga, spelled backwards with the addition of TD which stands for Town Deagu or Daegu Town which is Suga's hometown in South Korea. You definitely did miss out by not watching the live performance of this perhaps you should do a separate reaction to that. The vocals are better and delight performance ads so much to it.

They do have a lot of what we call subunits within the group. Like Friends by Jimin and V. Or, Fly to My Room by Suga, JHOPE, Jimin, and V. Jamevu by Jin, JHOPE, and Jungkook. Respect by RM and Suga. Just to name a few.

This song isn't really my favorite but I appreciate the creativity of it and how two of the members who seem like polar opposites came together to create this.

The *live* version is better. I, personally, am someone who preferred music with less auto-tune but I happen to have Suga as my bias who loves to experiment with every music production and he uses quite a lot of auto-tune on some of his rap verse (as his choice, not that he needs it, to be clear) so I love his live versions better. Although the studio version is still good. I just preferred the live one, personally.
